    Hey all,

    Plans are in the works!

    Here's the agenda:

Have and afternoon meet in the Framingham, MA area (A central location). Low key, no particular agenda although, I will see if a Prius Tech is available.
Aerometer will find the meet location and will investigate Toyota PR.

Early supper afterwards (5PM) at Tennessee's BBQ in town. www.tennbbq.com

Details to follow but we need to pick one of two Saturdays that works best for the majority of people.

    So hit the polling booth!

After getting a feel for which works best, I'll post the date and more details...

Cheers and looking forward to meeting you!

    Bob,

Invite Gilles Labelle at Westboro Toyota. He's the perfect hybrid enthusiast for this type of gathering!

Absolutely. I'd love the chance to get together and
geek tech, without having to wait all the way until
Altwheels. Please make sure there is sufficient
*parking* near the chosen food provider... the middle of
Framingham doesn't strike me as particularly
    gathering-friendly, but I haven't really poked around
    over there.

Okay, this "poll" thing isn't working for me. It's
probably some kind of javascript muck that my browser isn't
allowed to deal with. But I'll put in for 6-Aug, since I'll
be out of town all the preceding weekend...

Guys & Gals, I would also like to point out that this gathering is also a perfect opportunity to order & receive oversized items withOUT paying outrageous freight. One item that I have in mind is the Prius Hood Deflector.

Freight for 1 unit or 6 units differ by only a few bucks. But it costs around $45 USD to ship just one domestically. See my point?

Right now, normal retail is $99 delivered. But if you pre-order & pick up @ the gathering, price is only $79.00 USD.

Unfortunately, other JDM parts take at least 2-3 weeks to import, so unless you folks tell me NOW, the chance that you can just come & pick up the items is very slim cos' time is running out.

Hope to see you all soon...

Sorry guys, I live in Syracuse, which is 4.5 hours away. I'd join if you guys got, say, 25 Priuses together but otherwise it's too far for me. Have fun!

A tech presentation would be great, also a chance to compare notes on known problems and workarounds. 8/6 seems to be the heavy favorite, which works best for me, too.

Hmm. I think this is a great idea... I just moved to Marlborough and my Prius is only like a month old... however, 8/6 i'll be out of the country... So I voted for the 30th.

Hope to see you guys there... if people start voting my way heh.

My name is Rick Hamel and I am the Internet sales manager for Norm Wagner toyota in Lancaster, MA.

I am very interested in this event you are trying to plan. How many folks are registered so far. If it is really going to happen I will contact Toyota and see if they are interested in participating on some level.

I am new to this Chat group so forgive me if I am covering old territory.

Hi Rick, at this time, we have no sign-up list for this event, we just wish that a lot of Prii would show up that day. But for this New England regional forum, we have over 5,500 members registered. Yup, that is NOT a typo, while the whole PriusChat.com has around 7,150 members registered, NE alone has over 5,500. Aren't we the strongest subgroup or what?!

I tried to contact Toyota Community Relations by phone & by regular mail but I still haven't heard back from them after TWO MONTHS! I even left the lady 2 messages already. Please get Toyota to participate if possible.

FYI, the info that I used:
Also, does any one have connections with local news stations? I think this is an event that they would love to cover.

A few more things, is Framingham the location ok for everyone? Does anyone happen to know of a large public parking area in that region where we can meet? Preferably a place w/ shade too cos' it may rain or we may have a heat wave that day. I will drive around this Fri in that region to see if I can find a huge parking lot.

    See you all.

Either day is fine for me so I didn't vote. Let the majority rule.

Oh, shall we vote for where to eat? We don't have to do Tennesse BBQ, they have an excellent Indian restaurant next to TBBQ as well as a Buckaboo Creek which is across the street.

I hope we stick w/ BBQ. It was a major selling point for my boyfriend :)

Sorry, great idea but 4 hours each way is just too far for me right now. Wish there was a mid-Atlanitic counterpart I could take part in! :(
