Re: 17" Wheel Center Cap - Not Chromed???

It's silver color with carbon fiber texture and the raised circle-T Toyota logo chromed.

Re: 17" Wheel Center Cap - Not Chromed???

Thanks. That sounds like the Yaris' center cap and also what I saw on the Prius V 17" wheel at the January 2009 unveiling.

Now I'm guessing that the center cap I saw the other day on the Prius V 17" wheel was the same -- but was so dirty that I didn't or couldn't see the texture and raised chrome.

Yup. I see it now in the picture I took ... the 17" wheel and cap were so dirty that everything appeared to be the same silver alloy paint color. Here's the pic:

    Question?
Are these caps installed with just finger presure or do they require a rubber malet

We have lost 2 right front wheel caps on our 2010 Prius. Has anyone else had this problem?

I got my center caps through the dealership. Cost about $17 each. I looked online but not sure the size but they told me it is from the 17" wheel part list so I guess that will be your clue. Looks better without the hub caps and until I have enough $$$ to spend on some nicer rims.

I'm also looking at center cap part # 42603-AB020. Anyone can confirm it fits our 2010 prius 15" rim? Thanks.

I just took the Like New center caps off my 2007 Prius and transferred them to my 2010 Prius, and then when the new set I ordered came in, I put them on the 2007. There was no reason to swap the new ones to the new car, since all eight were in perfect condition.

Do you mean the whole wheel cover (hub cap)? I live in Los Angeles and I'm starting to see a lot of 2010's driving around and MANY of those are missing one or two wheel covers.

centercaps.net states that 42603-AB020 will fit 2004-2009 and notes: "Ring and 3 Clips on Back Plastic & Chrome". They look similar to 42603-52110 it would be great if anybody can confirm if 42603-AB020 will fit as well.

What I would like to see are some chrome trim rings that fit the 2010 Prius wheels. I've seen them for the 16" touring wheels for the GenII Prius, but nothing for the GenIII. Anybody found anything that works?

Upon further research 42603-AB020 has a diameter of 2.5", I think the 2004-2009 and 2010 Prius(es) can only accept 2.25" wide caps.

    edit:
It is 42603-AC020 that is 2.5". 42603-AB020 is at 2.25" but I suppose the clip issue still remains. It is awfully confusing though as a seller on feebay states that 42603-AB020 does fit a 2004-2009 Prius, which could very well translate over to the 2010 because 42603-52030 fits both generations. But I guess the seller doesn't know what he/she is talking about?

    I don't know what's up with parts.com

Apparently they redesigned their website within the last week, and I can't figure out how to order parts by part number or how to order parts for the Prius:

    Toyota - Parts.com

EDIT: NEVER MIND. THE REDESIGNED WEBSITE MAY BE BAD. BUT IT WAS MY ERROR REGARDING PARTS FOR THE PRIUS. I BELIEVE I HAD FAILED TO SCROLL DOWN THE TOYOTA MODELS PAGE ENOUGH TO GET TO THE PRIUS ICON.

I purchased a set of the "textured" center caps on eBay and they snapped into place perfectly. There is a seller (search for him because I don't want to be accused of advertising on Priuschat, or you can PM me if you like) that sells sets of 4 for $19.95 starting bid (or $24.95 buy it now) with $5.95 shipping (from Arizona). I looked at his other items for sale and it looks like he specializes in selling center caps for all different makes. Anyways, once he sells a set he just re-lists another set so it looks like he is stocked deep as well.

The set I purchased are referenced as "Manufacturer Number: 2886"

    Forget parts.com save yourself $20!

Anyways here are the pics. I'll be sure to take better daytime pics after I give the wheels a wash with all the brake dust from having the covers on prior to installing the caps.

    Great tips, thanks!

One problem people have had with some eBay vendors selling center caps is getting the right cap or getting a cap that fits. Often, resellers on eBay don't know everything about the things they sell and usually they do not list the part number.

Can you post the eBay seller name (don't worry ... people, including me, do it here ALL THE TIME) or PM me with the name?

    Thanks again.
