Niiice! I don't expect anything from mine. since "Access Toyota" started in 2005 (and was killed off a few years ago), I haven't received any free gift from the dealers (the best I got was a free oil change if I fill out the toyota customer survey).

prior to that, we usd to get stuff like a Toyota pin or a poster as well as a tumbler.

When I bought my smart, i got free mats and a free colour swap (cause they couldn't find a car in my specs with my colour so they swapped the panels from another car). I also got the floor mats cleaned every time I took the car in (in addition to the car wash)

My dealer is better. They don't give me free cleaning gifts, but instead they clean my car both inside and outside for free whenever I come :D.

WOW! Free gifts and service. My dealer, Joesph Toyota of Cincinnati hasn't even bother to contact me about the update.

I posted on another thread that the work apparently went fine and the only thing I can tell is that I seem to have to press the brake pedal less before the brakes engage (they seem to be more responsive). I haven't had a chance yet to try the car over the same spot where I had the one "incident." The regenerative braking appears to me to be the same when I'm slowing down but of course, this is only my impression (seems like I can control regen. the same as before). :focus:
PS - I also got my car washed but this was nothing special as they always do that. Just got an e-mail this morning from the Service Manager asking how my service experience was. They want to be sure everything was satisfactory (as Toyota will be sending me a survey :D).

Sounds good, I have been worried that the cure might be worse than the disease. Hope my dealer at least has a cup of coffee for me, donuts are probably to much to expect.

I'm taking mine in tomorrow just before noon- I'll let you all know if I get any swag. I wish there was a nice Toyota travel mug or baseball cap involved in the process...

Tumbleweed, is your dealer the one in Hermiston? I visited there when they had a '10 and no one in the valley did. I was not impressed and decided not to buy a car from them because they were so
    un-user friendly.

I made an appointment at my dealers for next week. He told me it would take a full hour. I was surprised because I thought it was a much quicker fix than that. He told me that if anyone is doing it faster than about 40 minutes, they are not doing it right? I need to re-read some threads here and see if I misunderstood the experiences people are having.

They did offer to let me leave my car, they will drive me to work and then come get me when finished so all good.

    Octavia,
My hunch is that with the paperwork, queueing up the car, moving car around, cleaning it (if your dealer offers that), hooking up the battery thing, etc, it could be about an hour. My hunch is the actual flashing only takes a few minutes, but they have to get all set up for it first I'm sure.

Yes Octavia that's the one, I have two choices within 60 or 70 miles the one here in Hermiston or another one up in Kennewick, WA. I have bought a Prius from each place now and I'm not really sure which I prefer. The one in Kennewick has a really spiffy new first class facility with free cookies and a girl that serves them to you; the one here has a service manager that seems more knowledgeable. Besides that the one here is only about 2 miles from my house so I can walk home if I don't get a loaner car. :)

Thats nice. They offered me 5 pound for cleaning service but I declined. I prefer to wash and clean my car by myself.

No gift...I felt lucky to get my car back. They were so busy that it was ridiculous. I went in at 8am with an appointment and got out at 9:53. And that included shutting off the reverse beep and adjusting the radio volume, which the guy had no idea how to do. One of the service managers had to walk back with him to get it done. The line never stopped and they seemed quite efficient at doing a non essential task. Having an appointment didn't seem to help at all.

Sorry to hear that. I am surprised they don't know how to get it done. It is really simple because I did mine myself. My friend who works in Toyota gave me the computer to plug it in to my Prius and let me play with it. Pretty cool.

Just got my update done at Jim Coleman Toyota in Bethesda, MD. I made an appointment on Monday and specified that I was flexible in when I schedule but that I want to be in and out ASAP.

They told me over the phone to be prepared for 30-60 minutes. When I arrive, the service adviser now stated 60-90 minutes. And guess what? Took 2 hours. They cost me an hour of work as well. I guess I will be emailing the service manager as that is just retarded.

Same here. I have not received any information about a Prius recall.
Will I get something in the mail?
