Sorry to hear that you had to pay someone for the upgrade. Search is your friend :).

No, my dash light does not come on. I didn't wire it up that way but others have. They actually used the OEM light stalk (with fog light position) to do that. That was way too much work for me. If a person had full wiring diagrams, they could probably tap into the ECU and make that like come on...

As far as the condensation... I know someone on here talked about mold growing on the inside of his/her MFD. Probably a related issue. Search for that in the GenIII forums. I have a little condensation accumulate after I work out/volleyball but the defrosters usually take car of that. I can imagine with your humidity down there that might cause a problem.

    Welcome aboard!

    Thanks Spiderman,

I am so new to this but does anyone in the forum has done the wiring to the ECU that I can ask? Only if you know off hand.

Paying someone to do it might be the best thing since I have no clue and don't want to get electricuted. I got so many thing I want to do to this car is not even funny. I want to put in side mirrows with markers (still can't find where to buy), the glow plate on the side of the door that looks like yours (Any suggestions), change all the interior light to LED and different color....

Hope I can find plenty of help here.

Great Look. A couple of questions:
In using the original inserts, did the fog light cover
"knock out" or did it need to be cut out?
How did you secure the lights to the insert? Did you use the Blinglight supplied hardware, or some otehr method?
    Thanks.

You can purchase from parts.com (part #s are in the attached document) or you can wait till the Prius Chat Shop ever gets the full kits together for sale.

    I found there may be one down side to having fogs;
I caught a rock on the drivers side and broke the lense!
Oh well, a quick $80 to an eBay seller and the part is on its way.

I feel for you... both or my lenes are cracked but no moisture inside yet.
$80! Is that with shipping? Are you getting the Yaris kit or something else (OEM)? Mine cost like $39 before shipping.

Question for you guys. I assume you both already have the aftermarket kits.... are they glass or plastic lenses? If they're glass, did they only crack or did it actually break/shatter?

I'm wondering how tough the glass OEM fog light lenses are compared to the aftermarket ones.

I got it off eBay and that included shipping. The kit I installed was indeed the aftermarket parts from Ebay as well and they are glass. It's cracked but doesn't look like it's leaking moisture yet.
SDM44, where did you get yours for $39? The dealer wanted $177 each BTW.

Ouch... yeah, no need to spend that kind of money to replace those units... this is an example of the ones I bought. 06 07 08 TOYOTA YARIS 4DR SEDAN JDM OEM STY FOG LIGHTS : eBay Motors (item 300397377394 end time Feb-17-10 19:52:34 PST)

The quality was just fine. I do need to find some way of protecting the lenses though. Perhaps that clear film?

You can see from the attached photo (sorry for the poor quality) that the glass is fractured but no moisture is in there. I will run them until that happens. Just about every car up this way that has fogs down low are cracked. I don't think the OEMs would have any advantage... but I don't know for sure.

Thanks Spiderman, next time I'll have a better source.
The cracks in mine look about the same. I wonder if there's some layer of plastic in side ~ seems strange that neither of ours leaked.

If V has the sunroof, I don't have to do the HID conversion and the fog light now

I will probably get BlingLights from pc shop and stick the HID H3 6K to match my HID H11 6K headlight and be done with it!

Ah, thanks for the pic. I wonder if there is a difference in glass quality, kind of like comparing an oem windshield to an aftermarket one made in china. The aftermarket glass will crack and shatter everywhere much easier than the oem glass, but it's also only a 1/4 of the price. I don't know if there's that much of a difference in the fog light lenses between oem and aftermarket (maybe oem is tempered and aftermarket is cheaper glass?) but I'll probably just get a clear sheet of Lamin-x and cover mine up.

Just buy the 4x8 inch sheet for $7. You can cut it in half and use them over the fog lights with enough overlap around the lens. I have a couple of yellow and ion-blue colored 4x8 sheets that they gave out at SEMA, and half of the sheet will work perfectly.

Is blinglights fog using H3 or H11? Based on what I see I think they use H3, right? and OEM fog using H11.

Also, is there any adjustments on those for lights? I just want to make sure it is not aiming high and causing problem to the driver in the front.

Thanks for the advice in advance.
