No brake issues. No rattling/squeaking dashboard, etc. Nothing else wrong that we can detect.

    Guess we were just lucky.

OMG, I can't tell you how many people have called or emailed me about this. I keep telling them I have a 2001 model and it's perfect. Absolutely perfect.

There have been other threads on this subject, but with Malorn and others digging for any dirt they can throw on Toyota with all the doom and gloom, I will be glad to contribute to a positive thread.

I have had my 2010 Prius III for six months. No problems, nada. I even had a personal call from my dealer requesting me to come in for the AOB upgrade. In and out in 30 minutes. No complaints from me.

I bet I can reproduce the brake issue if you bring it to me (my pothole-filled area of course), but congrats on the no rattling/squeaking dashboard that affects so many here.

I guess I always steer around potholes. No problem here & I have three Prius (2007, 2009 & 2010) in the garage!

I can relate. I think every non-Toyota owner is eating this up, and they have to make sure you saw the lattest crap in the news. None of these people have any idea about the issue, or whether or not it really is a problem.

I don't even bother trying to explain anymore. I just say my Prius was fixed in about 5 minutes, with a simple update to the software. Anybody that has Windows, can relate to updating your software.

When I tell them how easy it was, they almost look disappointed an go away unhappy. Works like a charm! ;)

PS No rattles or squeeks (knock on wood).

I steer around potholes whenever possible too, but downtown LA is also full of mini-valleys in the road that are pretty difficult to detect and produce the exact same symptom as potholes. A couple has taken me by surprise but I've never lost control of the car enough to surge into the middle of intersection or other cars.

Brakes? The Prius has brakes? I thought brakes hurt the fuel economy?

I had two rattles in my dash in cold weather. Some how the vehicle itself located the rattles and disposed of them with 'extreme prejudice'. Now they're both gone and the vehicle is perfect at 143,000 miles...it really is perfect.

Thank all of the above. I too have a delightful G3. Is it perfect? No, but I know of no other vehicle that is, but it is significantly better than any recent American car I have owned.

It's tough being #1 .... everyone is out to defeat the best.

Once you're at the top of the mountain, there's only one way to go.

My car will be part of the recalled ones for the brakes. I don't see it as a problem, because I brake ahead of time and kind of coast into the stops. Something most of us learned to do when driving a manual or any other car that required shifting that wasn't done by the vehicle automatically.

But, I have noticed NO problems with the vehicle. The only rattle I have, is my water bottle when it's in the cup holder. They really should have made those cup holders better so that they absorb the rattle! If I really wanted to do something about that, I'd put a little coaster in there with some kind of adhesive to hold it down. And no, I'm not complaining about it, I was joking about the issue!

Hey Don't laugh. That water bottle thing is true. I went crazy for months and I finally figured out what it was causing the rattle. It is the ring that is left on the bottle once you remove the cap. ( that is the tamper proof seal ring). See if this is the culpert in your case.
    All the best,
    J

If I could get rid of that -10 degree dash rattle I would be problem free. I guess everything rattles at -10 so I guess I'm problem free.

well my 2010 has a mileage calculation problem which could be labeled a safety issue if the inflated mileage figures would lead someone to believe that they could skip the gas station 10 miles ahead for the one 50 miles ahead and they run out of gas a ½ mile from the further station and is walking down the road with no shoulder with a gas can wearing all black...
