Hi! I'm not sure if this is the right forum for it, but I'm looking at a prius and can't come to a price I'm sure about.

2006 prius, 40k miles, all standard. No dents or dings. it's just a prius. car looks and drives fine.

what price should be paid? It's from the dealer so I know the price goes up a little. however, with the market the way it is, and good 'ol toyota's scare, and just plain 'ol crazy people out there... i was hoping to strike a deal.

Any thoughts as to the price? I operate under the assumption that dealer can ask any price they want. I'm going to counter and we'll negotiate to the price I want to pay. I'm just curious what you think would be a good buy for this vehicle.

Yep, checked. I was asking to see if people are getting below KBB these days due to the stupidity of the public scares. :)

Kelly has been actively adjusting their prices based on the current market stimulus. Kelly adjust it online price at least once a week if not more often sometimes as needed. You can also check other sites like NADA, Edmunds, ect. They all have to keep up with market actual conditions otherwise they would not be able to stay in business if they weren't considered current.

A few weeks ago I just purchased a 2006 with 38,000 miles equipped with #7 option package. Ie: nav, hid's etc. Car also included an extra set of rims and winter tires.

    I paid 14,400 for mine.

Not sure if it was too much or too little.

I hate telling people how much I paid. But, I was in your shoes and it is nice to see what they are actually selling for. ;)

That sounds like a nice deal for a car with low miles & loaded options.

I noticed when looking for my car, alot of priuses have pretty high miles for their age. For the OP, look at autotrader or the supermaket freebie magazines for how your local area is doing. I found comparing prices tough as the option packages from toyota are confusing. Lots of ads dont have "option package seven with added sat radio" or such. So be careful not to reject a loaded car cause base models sell for less in ads.
