Nissan EV is about to be officially announced!

I used up all my brilliance too.
JSH & I used to go round & round about whether or not the battery will be leased. It was only rumors until recently:

On the up side battery leasing is more cheap than gas, even counting the added cost of electricity (if you're not on many of the free chargers) ... especially for those of us with PV solar.

 

Seems that a lot of the Costco stores have them.

 

Fry's electronics have a bunch too. The challenge is that they're a different plug configuration from what the Leaf will have. Creative EV folks for years have been toting around conversion plugs and such so that different formats won't be insurmountable obsticles. A hassle for sure, but you gotta do what ever it takes if your juice is going to get low ... at least until plugs are standardized.

The latest is that they will either sell you the entire car or lease you the entire car. No mix & match.
