Yes, sorry, in all fairness, we had everything set up and would have followed through, had it not been for your son's illness. That couldn't be helped - I understand. Next time. :)

Unfortunately I think the God question is affecting how far I would go... As a zealous agnostic, I believe that there are many possible explanations for our universe, and confining yourself to a single possibility (be it monotheism, polytheism, or atheism), to the exclusion of all others which are equally plausible, is ridiculous. (For that matter, I believe that latching onto the merely plausible, without any questioning, is likewise ridiculous.)

So how far would you go?

And who's the turkey who would not want to meet her if she lived next door? Fess up!

Agreed, and frankly, limiting yourself or making a concrete decision on how far or who you would travel to see based soley on the fact that they have chosen to believe in God is using the same flawed logic.

Also, it's equally illogical of you to assume that I have not questioned and concidered all the possiblities before deciding to believe as I do.

I would travel to New Zealand, Japan, Australia, France or Norway to meet Octavia.

So Octavia: pick one of those locations and we'll meet up for lunch and coffee, ok? :)

P.S. They have excellent coffee in Australia and NZ. Damn fine jelly cream donuts as well.

P.P.S. Really, I can not stress enough the utter and complete yumminess of Aussie/Kiwi jelly cream donuts. But no pressure - whichever country works best for you.

I am NOT a jelly cream donut! Maybe PatSparks is, but me? No way.

As for where to meet - how about Tahiti?

    Its pretty close to halfway.

Isn't "zealous agnostic" an oxymoron? :)

That's exactly what I thought. Typically agnostic means who gives a rat's behind, since the answer is unobtainable.

As for the poll...popularity ratings......just what we need.

I picked three times around the world. While this may seem silly considering daniel's statement, let me point out that I assumed in my case she would be running.

You're welcome, Pat. And thank you for your kind words. Of course, I made the poll and included "3 times around the world" as one of the options.

    A brilliant assumption!

About time the sheep option showed up!

So... before I vote, I'm gonna need a recent, complete photograph. Standing by.

The photo is in the "I've got a secret" thread.

I drove across the state for lunch. I drove across the state so Reno could shrink-wrap the car. I drove around South Jersey all day for a chance to win a blinky trophy. I drove to Indianapolis for a weekend.

Let's have a cross country rally to meet Octavia!

In case you didn't notice Hobbit, in addition to the Madison, WI fest in July, there is a going to be a Green Drive Expo just north of Berkley, CA in June of this year as well.
Green Drive Expo - Bay Area

I think that one will be a little closer for Octavia. So are you planning on heading all the way out there?
