I have the Package III with no lumbar support and need advice. I purchased the Angel Mesh lumbar from Amazon but still am not satisfied. Can I get something comparable to what is in the Pkg IV which was out of my price range.

Do I have any other options being I will be commuting 50k miles per yr.

I have back problems and need more support.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thx

    Bob

I use one of these in all my cars, can't drive without it. You can get these at many stores or online.

My salesman said the lumbar support could be dealer installed on the Package III.....but at $250 or so, it is kind of pricey.
Of course, salesmen will say anything, so you may want to check with the parts or service folks.

I most often use a tempur roll purchased from the healthy back store. Works well for lumbar support as I have quite a bad back and am currently commuting nearly 60 mi 1-way followed by a lot more sitting at my destination. The roll works because if I want I can then take it in with me and use - the pain brings me to beyond caring about any wise cracks!

I used one of the seat type cushion with a hole in the middle from Brookstone for my previous ride (Infiniti G35) that you sit on to help support your back. It is made of that tempurpedic material so it won't ever lose it's shape. I believe it was around $25-$30. Worked well for me, but now I don't seem to need it for my prius, maybe because my G35 was stick and not automatic.

I still have not found any solutions?

I need something that I can incorporate into front seat, not a cushion -

Hopefully something new will come out?

Back Lumbar Support Pillow - LumbarCushion by Tempur-Pedic

I use the "lumbar cushion travel" it's great, I wanted something that attached to the seat but as you found, there isn't anything, as I get in the car I just place it against the seat and I'm good to go.
I sit for extended periods with no discomfort, without it I can't sit for 5 minutes.

    Tempur-Pedic ones are so expensive~ $89 @_@

Prius IV even with lumbar support, I also use another back support.
This time around I had brookstone gift card so bought one back support pillow from there.
You do want to get one with memory foam in it.
Its worth they $ but not $89.
I would say $40-$50 is more reasonable.

You can purchase these at many different stores, Pep-Boys, target. any Chiropractic office or just do a search on the web.

If you slide the seat as far back as it can go, then filp the seatback forward so it is almost flat, you will reveal clips that hold the seat cover on. If you unclip it, you can slide padding or pillow material of your choice into the lumbar area. I did this in my previous car, a Scion tC, and it worked great. I assume that it would work for a Prius. You do have to experiment with different kinds of material and thicknesses to get it just right for you. Try it!

The thing I hate about this is having those pillows exposed - looks kind of hokey to me. I am going to look at the idea of putting them under the seat cover as mentioned above. I also noticed Wet Okole has an option for inflatable lumbar with their seat covers and I am curious to know if anyone has tried these and how they connect for power?
