I voted "Not if she were my neighbor".

No offense, but I'm not the internet-stalker type. Nor do I chase forum girls that post nudes for attention.

Edit: This thread strikes me as extremely creepy Daniel. Epic fail mate.

That sounds more like "undecided" than agnostic.
I have decided. I've decided religion is big waste of time and that's about it. It's the content of your character that matters, not the label you wear.

"Edit: This thread strikes me as extremely creepy Daniel. Epic fail mate. "
Agree. I thought it was wierd to start threads to compare popularity. It can't be an "epic fail" though at 7 pages and counting.

I'm on at least half a dozen other forums (r6messagenet/r6central, etc). I've seen this happen at least 3-4 times now, and it always generates a lot of contraversy and discussion.

At this point in my life, all I can do is /facepalm at all of humanity.

It's always been that way. It keeps life interesting though!

Yes, although our need for categorization doesn't seem to allow "undecided" as one of the categories... (I was hoping the agnostics wouldn't care if I used their label)

Absolutely agree - organized religion is more often a source of evil than good (c.f.: priest abuse scandals, Jonestown, 9/11, the crusades, need I go on?). The power conferred through blind obedience tends to corrupt. And the more absolute the obedience, the more absolute the corruption...

But I still wonder about certain things that no one can prove or disprove (yet). Like the nature of the human "soul", and what might possibly happen to our consciousness when we die. Even if an atheist could convince me that "God" doesn't exist, those other questions are still open.

The problem most people have is that they can't live with ambiguity. Ask them what the square root of 4 is, and they say 2. The correct answer is that the square root of 4 is either +2 or -2.

The soul is a religious theory. In reality, the human brain can have competing conscienceness. In cases where the corpus collossum is cut (ussually to mitigate seizures) the person experiences competing consciencness between the 2 sides of the brain. It's really wierd but the 2 halves will fight each other over simple decisions such as what clothes they wear. Each has control over 1 hand and they will wrestle over the shirt they grab, slapping the other hand and trying to grab it's own choice.

Also, if you believe in the soul as something other than just how our brain works, then you typically think the soul starts at conception. However, Identical twins split AFTER conception. Thus, the soul must actually be able to split as well, which brings up a lot of logical problems for how the religious currently defines the soul.

Wow, we're really off topic now!

I'd do a day trip to visit Octavia to go get Indian. Or whatever kind of food. Just as long as it involves food.

Portland has the most micro-breweries of any large city. I'll make a trip for fresh beer.

Portland has beer (Deshutes brewery comes to mind), it has Powell's City of Books (well worth a trip right there!), and there is an excellent vegan eatery near Powell's, called the Blossoming Lotus.

Never a lack of reasons for going to Portland :p

Yes, I went to Powell's in 2007 when we spent a couple of days in Portland. That was just a couple of months after getting the Prius. We also discovered Jake's Famous Crawfish restaurant on that trip. Mmmmmm....I like salmon. :D

    You're mistaken.
I posted the "I've got a secret" thread for attention. The "nude" was just for laughs.
I'm less creeped out by Daniel starting this thread as I am that you - someone who clearly regards me with complete contempt- actually reading this thread and aware that I posted a "nude" in some off hand thread titled "nude girls reading" or something or other.

Daniel and I have been communicating for some time now, through PM, email, and telephone. Our meeting was the next natural step in the progression of our friendship.

The Indian food was surprisingly good. :) I think I lost my jacket there though. I lost it somewhere that day. My nice one too. :(

We were right there! Walked past Powells. I was surprised Daniel didn't want to go in there to be honest.

No Octavia, I don't hold you in comtempt. I don't know you, nor is the prospect of rectifying that something that even remotely interests me. I know it's hard to believe that someone, somewhere doesn't want to travel three times around the world to meet you, but it is true. It is partly impossible and at least somewhat insane to dislike someone you don't know anything about.

As for your posting pictures of yourself on the internet, while I wouldn't consider that the most safe or appropriate thing to do in this age, it is your prerogative. I hereby withdraw my unfair criticism and apologize. I mentioned it in passing simply because you can't expect every man to be attracted to that sort of thing. At my age you learn that what people have on the inside is far more significant.

I'd be happy to post nude photos of myself on PriusChat. Anybody interested?

thanks for your input. i question one's participation in something that "creeps them out" but then again, i have known a lot of thrill-seekers that i also wondered a bit about. but if that is what make em tick, so be it.
