Hi All - I just pick up my prius /w solar panels and leather interior package.

I freak out because the seats looked like an aftermarket install with the leather and heated seats - the switch for the heater is on the side of the seats. I looks exactly like and I know for a fact that this is something the aftermarket guys do. I went back to the dealer and they told me that Toyota Canada is doing this on some of their cars at port of entry before they send the cars to the Dealer. It looks like they are hooking the power at the 12v accessory plug and bypassing the fuse panel. They tell me the sp01 package is factory. I will call Toyota Canada soon .

Is there anyboby running into the same type of situation. I am not too happy , they do not even use the main harness for the seat heater and missing the seat heater button on the center console.

    Thanks MJ

Personally, I would not have accepted delivery of the car if it's not to your satisfaction.

Take it back. If it's not what you ordered (factory accessories), they need to make it THEIR issue ... not yours.

Hi - I wanted to sell if any Canadians have this package - I went to two other dealers and some of their Prius with premium package and sunroof have this aftermarket leather interior - Both that seats are missing the srs tags - for sure the leather has be installed after the car left their factory -I am concern that this leather install will cause a problem with the srs seat bags deployment

What you have isn't the factory leather option (which is only available on the Technology Package). However, it is factory leather (i.e. it's the same leather that's used on the Technology Package). This "Leather Option" that's available on all other Prius models is in fact a Port-Installed Option that is done at the Port of Vancouver. It includes the leather seat surfaces and dual-stage heated front seats with a small round heater switch mounted on the side of the front seats. This leather package does not include leather door trim, centre console lid or leather-wrapped steering wheel.

It's the $1,895 option which I think is rather expensive (esp. since it doesn't cover the door panels nor the console lid).

    Hope that cleared things up.

Hi Tideland - will this non factory leather install hinder the SRS on the seat airbags ? - I think there is some rule that requires the seats to have a sign or label indicating the srs on the front seats . I will take my complain to Toyota Canada- the president will be hearing from me - I would not have brought this if I knew that the seats was a port install item.

It shouldn't hinder since it's a listed an official accessory on Toyota Canada. You should've known since it's listed under accessory (APX01 usually) on the ordering form as opposed to regular factory options (it's also listed in the accessory section of the Build Your Own on Toyota Canada's site). It is odd that the labels are missing. That I would bring up.
