Just tried using the Scan button with FM radio this morning. It doesn't work at all. Instead of searching for strong stations, it just increments the frequency by .2 MHz (the minimum increment) and pauses, whether there is a station there or not. It will do this all the way across the dial. It's completely worthless. The same thing happens in my wife's Prius.

Strangely, the scan works on the AM band.

And my XM radio / traffic info stopped working after just 5 days. I tought new car owners were supposed to get a 30 day trial?

I don't know about the scan, I have never tried it, but on my XM trial subscription the dealer activated my radio about 10 days before he delivered it to me so I got shorted a few days so maybe that happened to you, although I am not sure what, if anything, you could do about it.

Hmm.. Everything worked fine at lunch today. Wonder if we had some sort of electromagnetic interference this morning.. Whatever it was, it affected my wife's car too - about 60 miles away from me at the time.

Well, I have an 08, and the scan button works as follows. I tap it once, it scans up frequency in 200kHz steps, odd frequencies only, when it finds a signal, it will hold for 4 sec, then resume scan. If you want to stop scan on a station you want to hear more of, tap Scan again.
I read the Manual for your car, radio should work the same way.
Of course if your radio exibits the same crappy receive as others have experienced that could explain it!!!
There were no unusual Solar events recorded today, "C'est la vie"

That's how mine behaves, except this morning it stopped every 200kHz, whether or not a signal was found. This afternoon it worked fine.

Took it back to the dealer today to have some accessories installed and asked them to look at it.

I got a 3 month trial subscription to XM which is what I thought all Prius' have now. Double check with the dealer.
