The III we're considering buying has Yokohama Avid S33 tires. I've searched the forum and found a thread about them, with pretty much average reviews.

However I couldn't find anyone's suggestion on what tire I should ask for instead of the Yokohama, in case that's possible to replace them as part of the deal.

Does anyone have any tire recommendations to share?

    Thank you.

Where do you live? The answer depends if you live more in the south where ice/snow does not matter, or more north where it does. I'm in Chicago, so I will get the Hankook H727's next time since they have good ice/snow traction.

Also, unless you purchase a low rolling-resistance tire, you may lose a few mpg for any regular after-market tire.

Thanks for the reply. I'm in PA. On my 2004 Prius, we got the Hankook H727's last October based on the Consumer Reports recommendation, but they didn't come in the stock size. So now all the automatic MPG calculations are off, which my wife is not happy about at all. I'm real happy with the performance of the tires themselves, they were much better in the snow than my previous tires (Mich Hydroedge).

I was hoping for some recommendation in the stock size for the 2010 Prius, that the dealer may be able to put on.

The H727's do come in the stock size for the 2010 Prius.

Oops sorry, I should have realized the size difference between the Gen II and Gen III. Thanks for the clarification.

Since you used them in the 2-gen, what was the mileage difference as compared to the OEM Integrities?
