I've been doing lots of reading since my husband said I should look at getting a new car....isn't he sweet :)

I've been looking at the Prius since we (both my husband and I) do ALOT of driving, 25k/yr.

I found the following two prius' for sale in the midwest and I think they are a good deal, but was wondering what you guys/gals thought (there are other girls on here right?!?)

    2007 - Prius Package #6 with 27,744 miles - Barcelona Red - Price $15,995

    2008 - Prius with Package #? with 32,245 miles - WHITE (?!?) - Price $16,995
Can't tell what package, it has the following based on the description: This Super White'08 Prius Hybrid has the complimentary gray cloth interior and comes equipped with safety features like hard-to-find ABS brakes, dual and SIDE CURTAIN airbags, stability control, remote entry PLUS comforts like cruise control, auto climate control, power windows, locks & mirrors, rear fold down seat, AM/FM/CD player, temperature display PLUS sporty options like ALLOY wheels and factory SPOILER

Any thoughts .... ? Good Deal, not so good deal?

    Someone must have an opinion?

    2007 for $15,995
    2008 for $16,995

If you had to pick, would you pick either of these? Also - do you think they are priced too "high" too "low"?

There was a 2008 Prius with pkg 5 with 31,000 miles on it for $14,980 a couple a days ago. It finally sold. It was sitting on the lot for more than a month. It was still under warranty till you hit 36,000 miles.

Those prices seem high. Does the 2007 still have some warranty left? I would choose that one since it has all the gadgets. I would shop around though. You have a wide scope of area. Milwaukee, Madison, Chicago.

Thanks - exbauer. . . I'll work on my "negotiating" skills....or rather have my husband do some negotiating :)

Thanks for your insight - I'll continue to look.

Yes the 2007 still has some warranty left on it (I believe)

Both cars have various amounts of factory warranty left on them. Isn't it great that the white's description makes all the standard stuff sound wonderful? Throughout 2007-2009 items migrated from higher to lower option packages or became standard. Boo posted pdf files for each year that may help.

    Hi :)

My wife and I just purchased a 2008 Prius II which is what your 08 sounds like.... ours has 10,000 miles on it and we bought it for $17,300 in upstate NY.

I know prices differ around the Country... but the 08 your looking at seems like a good price (to me).

What I did.... in my research of pricing... was go to KBB.com (Kelly Blue Book) and got BOTH the prices for Retail and Certified (used) for my car (they ask for zip code).

Then I went to Autotrader.com and did a 250 mile sweep of all dealers with a 2008 Prius II for sale... which at this point I judged that the 17,300 was a really better than a FAIR price.

    So we bought it!!!

Try running the numbers the way I did... apples to apples in your area and go from there>

    Good Luck !

    We love ours!
