Hey guys, I'm pondering a purchase of a 2011 WHITE Prius next spring and was wondering about the color, anyone on here have a WHITE Prius that they are sorry getting. Its between a BLACK and WHITE, and black get dirty so easy, one drive to town and its got road grime on it. White on the other had, (I think?) doesn't show the dirt as much, esp salt in the winter. Is it worth the extra $220 for white?
I'd be interested in opinions from some other "white" owners, any other problems I'm not think of?

    thanks guys,

It is not exactly "white" but blizzard pearl. It is a very nice color...my first choice for sure. In negotiation, does it really matter what white costs? Just negotiate the final price that you want and go from there.

But, individually speaking, is BP worth $220? I think so. I also think silver looks really good without the downfall of white (easy dirty) or black (easy to see a scratch). Silver was my 2nd choice. If you like black, then check out the other dark colors. Winter Gray surprised me a little bit.

I have the Blizzard White and its not a flat white, it is a Pearl (metallic) paint. It is a great color for the Prius. You do have to keep it waxed and clean as you will see the dirt in the paint. Black is nice when clean but you will see every swirl & scratch in the paint + it gets very hot in the sun. I would never own a black car.

I also vote against the black color for the reasons stated above.
But the white color also has a problem. The white seems to be the color of choice for commercial vehicles (Pepsi, Budweiser, etc). Must be the best color to hang magnetic signs on the car. :p

My former car was white and in summer, it seems to be a cooler color here in Arizona. But it did show any bits of fresh road tar that would spray up from the tires on the rocker panels. I was constantly cleaning it off the car. I wanted something different this time around so I went with the Blue Ribbon metallic. I get lots of compliments.

Thanks to everyone who responded, yes I knew it was BP, just typed white being lazy. Guess I'll be going with the BP, its been 2000 since I had a white car, and I liked the one I had, it was an Oldsmobile Aurora.

Looks like BP is the one then....thanks again everyone.:D

Dark colors show dents and scratches more- light and white shows dirt more. I have BP and love the color- pearly sparkle. My second choice was silver, but I have a silver Camry and wanted something different. Try to get the darker gray interior with the white if it is available in '11- looks great and easier to keep clean looking.

The best solution is to get one of each, a light one and dark one....:D

I was down to the same choice ... Black or Blizzard Pearl. My past 5-6 cars had all been black and I generally think it makes a car look as sporty as it can look.

That being said, I found black didn't especially look that great on the newest model ... went with Blizzard Pearl, tinted the windows and have been very pleased with my choice. It was VERY hard for me not to get black, but I haven't had one doubt.

yeah, that was one of the reasons I was between black & white, I want the dark interior, I don't like that bisqe look. Glad to hear you like the pearl, I assume it takes well to waxing.

I waxed it twice about a month apart and it looks great- all the obvious benefits, and the sparkle in the pearl paint really shows in direct sun. See other threads for wax recommendations. Get the BP color if offered, it is gorgeous. I negotiated no upcharge when I purchased the car.

I'm really happy with my Blizzard Pearl. Yes, it takes a little more work keeping it clean than maybe a silver car, but the tradeoff in both looks and the car staying cooler in the sun will definitely be worth it.

Also, tinted windows look great in contrast to the color.
