Hey there guys, I thought you may be interested in seeing my LED modifications on my Prius II. Let me know what you think and if you have any questions I will answer them to the best of my ability. I changed the map lights, rear dome light, and the license plate lights. The installation took less than 5 minutes for all of the bulbs. Couldn't have been easier.

The bulbs I used and links will be below the images--

    Bulbs used:
License plate AND front map lights - WLED-xHP5 (the X is where the color choice is substitued) Since I got white it would be WLED-WHP5. (select white from the drop down menu)
Rear Dome Light - 3022 xBHP2-DI LED Festoon bulb - They only have it in blue. On the link below, press Ctrl and F to find"

Looks good. You didn't want to go for the full blue LED interior, map lights and all?

Great Job...too bad the rear dome wasn't available in white though...I wonder why not? Anyway, what about the courtesy lights in the door and the side hatch compartment light? Were they available in LED? Also, there's about a 15 second dim-away feature before the lights go out. Does that still work for the LED changeover?

Well, originally my plan was to have all white, but the rear dome only came in blue. So that's what I ended up going with afterall. The blue looks nice, but it doesn't give off near as much light as the white LED's.
    Thanks! I appreciate the comment.
Well, I know it used to be avaliable in white, I guess they sold out and just started selling the blue ones instead. The lights in the door and hatch ARE avaliable in LED's. However, the door lights are more of a pain to replace, and I never use the hatch light. My main goal was to replace the lights that were seen the most and notice the most, which I think are the map/rear dome lights. If I remember correctly, you have to take the door pannel off of the door in order to install the door lights. I'm not so sure if I wanna do that. It sure would look nice though. The dim away feature indeed does still work with the LED lights. They fade a little quicker than the stock lighs, but they still do have the fade effect and do not shut off immideately.

Be sure to post pictures when you do! By the way, the rear dome festoon bulb is a pretty darn tight fit. You just gotta work with it a little bit.

If you are referring to the puddle lights on the lower door panel, those are very easy to replace. Just pop off the clear cover, pull out the housing, remove a second cover and change the bulb. I think someone posted step by step instructions in another LED thread.
The bulbs that are hard to get to are the personal lights above the visor... Those are a pain in the butt to remove the clear cover.

Hmm thaw a good question... I'm on my mobile phone right now, once I get home I'll do some research and see if a place can ship them out to your location. Check out SUPER BRIGHT LEDS - LED Lights & Accessories and see if they will ship to you if you pay for it. If not, I'll see what I can find out for you.

Thanks HI MPG! I'm back at home now. I see that he did not explain how he actually took the fixture OUT of the door. I assume that all you do is pop it out using a similar method for the overhead map lights. However, I don't want to start prying on the plastic in different places and end up breaking something. Anyone have any information as how to get the plastic to come out of the door? Thanks!

EDIT: Nevermind guys, I got it figured out.

Just be patient! That is the main cause of people breaking stuff in my opinion. Take it easy and post some pictures up once you get it done!

I got all the interior done except im waiting on the footwell lights tomorrow...I got the white headlight marker on the fronts changed to led...and i was trying to change the front passenger side amber headlight marker, and i couldn't get the casing for the light turned to come out...I was killing my hands trying to work in a small area..anyone have any good pointers to get that one out?

I may try tomorrow again..I will not settle without LEDs..i gotta test the ones I put in a bit at night here...can't wait!

Good luck with the footwell lighting. It shouldn't be a difficult task. I don't have expirence with changing the markers, however when I changed the license plate bulbs it was hard to turn that connector aswell. What I did was got some needle-nose plyers and try to use them to turn the connector things. That should help! Lemme know if it works out for you.
