    Will 2005 seats fit a 2007 Prius?

I am selling some seats from my 2005 on ebay, and a potential buyer has a 2007, but we need to confirm they will fit before completing the sale. We will be swapping both the front and rear seats, and they are both the cloth upolstery.

I have read on the forum that the seats from 2004 to 2009 are basically interchanable, but there were some slight dimensional changes along the way. Slight changes would not be a problem here as long as the basic attach points and surfaces and air bag wiring are the same.

Thanks in advance for your help.

For the front seats, as long as the '05 seats have airbags they will bolt up. The rear seat bottom is different but should bolt up fine. The upholstery pattern is slightly different and the tan colors are different.

Is the tan color significantly different, or will the 2005 tan seats look OK replacing the 2007 tan seats? All of the front and rear seats would be replaced in this swap, so there is no mismatching of color among the seats.

Thanks for the answers so far,

    Doug

I cannot comment the color difference but the door handles and the center armrest would be the only things that might give it away.

I can answer my own question now. The 07 passenger seat has different sensor wiring than the 05 and prevented a direct swap.

We ended up removing the seat foam and covers from the 05 and installing them on the seat frame of the 07, and thus retained the 07 passenger seat electronics. This foam transfer took about 2 hours to do. The goal here was to removed smelly seats from the 07, so that was accomplished and the owner of the 07 is happy.

The driver seat electronics were identical. I wonder why they just changed them on the passenger seat?

All the other seats swapped with no problems in about 45 minutes.

I hope this helps someone else who may face this question in the future.

    Good luck,

    Doug

Ivory (2005) is a little darker and more beige than Bisque (2007). But if the front and rear seats are installed it should look OK (the armrests, center console top and carpets would be a slightly different color).

I have detailed photos of my 2006, as I was contemplating a swap with a 2005 owner, but she confirmed that she has "a lot less" wiring on the passenger seat. I think they changed the way the airbag sensor is triggered, with the later cars getting a 4 sensor system.

no the wiring under the seat is different. I am looking for leather seats for my 05 Prius and was told only another 05 would work. Ron
