My only question is (and I'm being half-facetious here): Why not drive to Denny's in just one car and get a combined 140.4 mpg? :)

Loud pipes have nothing to do with a vehicle's ability to haul heavy loads...

Trucks have a purpose, the problem is that 95% of truck owners aren't using them for that purpose, 99% of the time. (hence the implication that they are using it for something else...)

What really bugs me are these "short bed" pickups - what f*cking good is a truck that can't hold 4x8 sheet of plywood/drywall in the bed? And why do those vehicles get a special classification in the CAFE standards?

Don't let it bug you. Not everyone is a builder. I need mine for towing limits so I can tow my boat safely pure and simple. Love the silly figures that you come up with, care to share the source of the research ;-)

Just sit on a busy street and count how many trucks have nothing more than a little junk/garbage in the back - your numbers might not be quite as high as mine, but they'll be close.

Trust me, that sounds even better!
But it would take the fun out of using the Gen. II
and Gen. III and seeing who comes out winning, and it was me.
    :)

Why should anybody have to "justify" their vehicle to you? You have no idea how they use their pickups based on a ten second drive by observation.

    Prius is cool for sure.

I like what Lexus is bringin with the CT200h .... the darker side of green. That will reign in a bunch of holdouts who've gotta have the image too.

The new Pri isn't what I'd call sexy or anything, but it's cool.

... it would be cooler with some sweet looking 16" alloys on the III and IV trims ....

    Toyota :D
