    Didn't realize that electricity prices were so high in CT until I read
    I confirmed the very high 20 cents per kwh at Electric Power Monthly - Average Retail Price of Electricity to Ultimate Customers by End-Use Sector, by State.

    I thought California's electricity (when I lived there) was a ripoff already.

    That article told me nothing. It just said she ran out of juice after plugging in for an hour. Who are they trying to fool?

    There's another story up there today:

    A week with the i-MiEV proves that range and charging continue to hamper the experience — Autoblog Green

    Obviously we don't have all the facts in the KPCC story, like how much charge she had in the first place or under what conditions she drove, but I did sums based on the facts that were provided and it looks like she did 60 miles and put 4 hours worth of charge back in the battery using 110v. I can't imagine how she ran out UNLESS the car's batteries were severely depleted to start with.

    Edit: Ah, I didn't realize that the battery packs in the iMiEV are only either 16kwh to 20kwh, depending on if you have the original or the improved version. That (and a bit of range exaggeration by the manufacturer perhaps?) could have something to do with it.
