"Scion said it will ship a U.S. version of its much-hyped iQ micro-subcompact, the company said at the New York International Automobile Show on Thursday. The 2011 Scion iQ will go on sale early next year, and will feature a length of just 120.1 inches."

From Scion's web site about the iQ: "Don't stare though, it's evil genius facia won't blink for anyone."

Pardon me as I projectile vomit.:target:

I took a Smart Car for a test drive last year and came to the conclusion that Daimler Benz was the wrong company to produce the vehicle. If Toyota is serious about producing a solid vehicle that gets great mpg, then the IQ should have no problem leading the pack.

According to the June 2010 print version of Automobile magazine (just arrived today), the Toyota Scion iQ is on schedule to be released in the U.S. in "early 2011." :)

They were a surprise hit over here. They're quite wide for their small size, but the rear seats are really only for small children. They're an ideal city car or for students and the turning circle is super tight. Not sure how it would look at the traffic lights next to one of your massive SUV's you have in the States!

Much like they look beside the Hummer H1 I saw getting around the streets of Burnley UK a few years back.

Ah there is a crowd here that think big American pickups and SUV's are trendy and bad-nice person. Also there's a US airforce base about 10 miles from here, so I'm used to seeing huge Durango's, F250's and Suburbans squeezing down our narrow streets. Mainly Maryland and Arizona licence plates.

In fact, talking of American vehicles, I saw quite a rare sight today - a US lhd Chevrolet Malibu Hybrid! I understand they're rare in the US, let alone over here.

The iQ should be fun. It should also be more reliable than my smart.
