    Hi all,
Last week my Prius 2001 showed the triangle warning, check engine, and the battery lights on. Autozone guy told me code P3125 was recorded. There is no 13.5V DC out to charge the small battery;therefore, car will die after 1 hr with a fully charged battery. I am still able to drive the car for 2 hours every day with an extra battery in the trunk, then charge both battery at night. Inverter coolant reservoir show no turbulent flow even though the pump is working fine. What are the possible problems here? I bought one used inverter on Ebay and replaced it, but trouble is the same. Any idea how to fix this?
    Thanks

P3125 is a general inverter failure error code. The specific information code is necessary to properly diagnose the problem. There are 81 separate information codes for this code listed at Hybrid Vehicle ECU Diagnostic Trouble Codes. (On Gen 2 many of them were changed over to SAE-standard P0XXX codes.)

I don't have access to the Gen 1 manual, you may well be better off getting a couple of days subscription to Toyota TechInfo. If you're lucky it may be as simple as a fusible link block having burnt out - although often fuses blow for a reason, that something downstream is drawing too much current.

    Hi Mike,
Thank you for your information. I noticed right after I replaced the inverter, everything came up fine with no warning triangle, engine check, or battery lights at all. I thought the problem was fixed. I started the car and every thing was still fine for a while; but when my foot stepped on the brake so I could change gear from P to D, that was when all three lights (warning triangle, engine check, and battery) came back on. So the problem is the brake control box???

    Thanks
