Then tell us why your Prius has a salvage title and we can stop guessing...

You posted before I added these questions to my above post...so I will post them again:

Why don't you calm down and tell us the WHOLE story and start from the beginning. Answer these questions:

    1. Why does your Prius have a salvage title, what happened to it and how long ago?

    2. What is wrong with your Prius that needs repair that the dealer won't do?

    3. What is the reason the dealer gave you for why they won't do the work, and what do they recommend you do?

If we have the answers to these questions we can advise you but if not, then you're on your own.

Okay so you were unaware it was a salvage vehicle? What exactly does the Carfax say? What does the title on the vehicle say? How long have you owned the vehicle?

What did the dealer tell you, did they make reference to it being a salvage vehicle when they refused you service? They have to have explained more to you about why they would not repair the car.

Carfax tells when a given vehicle has had the following maint, safety inspection, title name change and all of this is very nonspecific and date specific only. Carfax does not tell what kind of maint, where safety inspection location and name only of title holders.

enough why and what either you have tech info or you do not

Bottom line: You knowingly bought a car (regardless whether it's a Prius or not) that was (at best) worth only 30% of its normal value (or less) when it was either burned, crashed, stolen, vandalized, flooded, etc.
When these wrecks get fixed, they do it as cheep as possible. Go figure! ... They want to make as much money (on YOU) as they possibly can. States that sell salvage titled cars (most) require NOTICE to be given to the buyer. You knew. Otherwise, if you didn't know, you'd have already said so.
If you didn't know, you'd be taking it back to the dealer ... with an attorney. Since you're not taking it back ... well ... end of story. I feel for you, but that doesn't help. There's no point in carrying on. Consider it one of life's valuable lessons. There will be more of them to come - so be on your toes from now on.

It is like pulling teeth from a 4yr old...

The reason we ask "why" the car is salvaged, is because that is probably a key factor in "why" they refused you service.

If it was in a flood for instance (I know you already said it wasnt, but you never said what was wrong with it) then no sane person would do any work that guarentees anything electrical in the car (which is pretty much everything in a Prius).

Or if it was in a huge front end accident where the engine came inside the passenger compartment, who knows what mechanical and electrical connection are compromised, bent, broken, whatever.

If you want help, then just level with us and tell us why it was salvaged. Or at the very least, tell the whole story of what happened at the dealership. I very much doubt it went the way you have described so far:

You: "I need you to fix my car"
Dealer: "No. And I am not explaining why. Good-day sir"

I've been following this thread with interest and all I can say is that's the exact analogy that I've had in mind here 2k1. It's almost like you read my mind. :D

One thing for sure is that we can't accuse the OP of being overly verbose.

So...you're saying exactly what I already said. You have no way of knowing if its a flood car or what happened to it because the Carfax just says its a salvage.

What does the TITLE say? How did the dealer come into posession of a carfax on the vehicle? This doesn't make any sense.

Regardless of what you might think...we are actually trying to help you.

Lets look at how this all started and how it got to where it is now. You came in blasting Toyota saying they won't repair any of our vehicles after 100,000 miles. When we dig we discovered you were denied service because the dealer somehow found out your car is a salvage, you won't tell us how or why. We know you know its a salvage because its in your membername. You won't tell us what happened to it or even if you know or don't know. You won't tell us how long you've owned it. You won't tell us what the title says. You won't tell us what the dealer said and why they denied you service specifically. You get increasingly angry at our questions but refuse to answer them and finally...you say no more questions just tech info. But...you haven't asked for any tech info, and we can't give you any without knowing exactly what the situation is.

I think you know a great deal more than what you are letting on...and that information would make the dealer look a whole lot better in this whole scenario which is why you won't share it with us.

If you can't or won't help us understand the reality behind what is going on, we cannot help you. Good luck.
