Maybe you missed my point. People need to read a little before they start a new thred.

Far from pointless. A distinction needs to be made between email and newgroups/forums. There is no point in starting new threads about the same subject. It only makes the forums messy and harder to follow.

We don't want to ignore the discussion; we simply don't understand what is the point in starting 300 new subjects about 1 subject.

In other cases, contributors are too lazy to do a search with either of the search tools (PriusChat's and the Google search) and rather simply start new threads. Every heard of a thread about B-mode, ECO or EV mode?

Maybe there is a particular egocentric pleasure in starting new threads that I just don't understand.

Im sorry to incovience you . I was sharing a problem that hasnt gone away and didnt feel the need to search for an answer. I was simply letting people know my experience with it. I think its ridiculous why some feel the need to join a thread and try to "regulate" who posts what and why. Its the prius chat forums period. If you dont like a thread dont read it.

    (emphasis mine)

Unfortunately, it's this "didn't feel the need to search" which diminishes the value of the Forum when it comes time to research a subject later on.

Think about it like this -- when you're filing your bills, do you make a separate folder for each cable bill or do you aggregate all the cable bills in one folder? Surely you can see where finding the cable bill you need at a later date is much easier and more convenient when all the cable bills are in one location vs. spread out higgledy-piggledy across the ether.

You still do not get it. If you are trying to let people know your experince do it in one of the other 300 threads. Why start a new one.

I have experienced this effect in my old 2000 Insight. If I was using regen braking coming down a long steep hill, the electronics at some point would sense that the Battery was completely full, or was overheating from rapid charge, and back off the regen braking, while not translating to friction braking because the brake pedal was not pressed hard enuf for that. Very disconcerting for a while then you just get used to it.

This is not how the Prius would handle such situation (traction battery becoming full). It would rather apply equivalent friction braking, so the end result would be the same braking power (deceleration).

This has happened to me too. Given the stories of out-of-control acceleration, I can see how this would make people panic if they weren't expecting it.
