    Hey all,

My Prius comes with 17" Toyos (215/45/17). Well, i searched Toyo's website and cannot find these specific OEM tires. They had other ultra-high performance tires that don't seem like they would be quiet nor have low rolling resistance. So, Michelin may be the only choice (if i had to buy a tire now). Otherwise, we would be stuck going to Toyota dealerships to get our Toyos, which means that we might as well enter the dealership butt first readying to be screwed big time!

Michelin has only one tire that comes in stock size: Pilot MXM4 | Michelin Tires

I do NOT want to upsize or use any other size than OEM because i don't want a mismatch if i had to use the dounut (which is OEM size diameter i believe).

According to TireRack, these are my other choices: Tire Search Results

From the list, it seems like the only good replacement is the: Bridgestone Ecopia EP100

    Anyone tried these tires yet?

Anyway, i am thinking about this because you just have to plan for the worst...aka, flat tire that is not repairable. So, any other alternatives/thoughts?

    Thanks in advance,
    Thai.

I will be ready for new tires before next winter and have been looking also. As Thai implied the Toyo A20 OEM tires are way overpriced. Unless something else comes along I will go with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus or Yokohama Advan S.4, neither are LRR but that is a sacrifice I am willing to make for added performance. I had a set of the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S on another car and they were superb.

The best tires I have ever owned are Bridgestone Turanza Serenity Tires.
I had them on my Camry and they are super quiet and soft riding.
they are not fuel savers but if you are looking for other aspects i mentioned above, they are a great tire.

What size do you have? I think that Primacy is a good tire...so, i would love to have it...but i don't think that it comes in stock 17" size (215/45/17).

You can use 215/50/17's as a substitute.

The "What tires did you get" thread shows a couple members from the GB with Michelin Primacy HP and Michelin Pilot Primacy, both in the 215/45/R17 size. Which model do you have?

I'm wondering if that size for those specific Primacy models is only available in Europe, because Tire Rack isn't showing that size for either model in the U.S.

    Awhile back I posted:

"Based on tirerack.com and Consumer Reports, a top low-rolling-resistance all-weather tire is the Michelin Primacy MXV4.
*It is top-rated among Consumer Report's November 2009 report in their "Performance All-season (H speed rating)" list. They rate it Excellent in rolling resistance.
*At TireRack.com, it is top-rated in their "GT All-Season Touring" list, right above the General Altimax HP (available now, but rated only Fair by CR in rolling resistance).

However, not available for the Prius 17" wheels. I contacted Michelin, and they said they planned to offer the 215/45R17 size in the USA in October 2010. Unless something even better comes along, I'll be replacing the OEM Toyos with these at the appropriate time."

I just checked michelin.com and they are still not listed.

Its Michelin Primacy HP. Thats the model. Not the MXM4. the Model is HP and it comes 215/45/R17. I really like it so far. If I weren't changing car soon I would have gotten another two pairs to stock up.

You can find it in any online tire shop in the UK.
