Ive seen some people have bright yellow Nokya fog light bulbs and I want to buy a pair too, but there are so many variations. I think the correct model I need is:

    9006 Nokya Hyper Yellow HB4 2500K 70W Stage 1

But Ive seen someone with a 2010 install H11s. Then there are 2 different packages I've found. Everyone on ebay has this one:

    9006 HB4 NOKYA HYPER YELLOW BULBS 70W 2500K STAGE 1: eBay Motors (item 390198125236 end time Jun-18-10 01:33:25 PDT)

But the stock photos on amazon.com show this:

    http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41AhJblD7lL._SL500_AA300_.jpg

All I need is the right model number. I just want to buy the one that works for my car and is not a fake. If anyone has experience with this product, please help me, I'm so confused. Thanks.

Thanks Jim but I was referring to more of the technical side of the fogs - which model would work with the OEM harness. For example whats the difference between 9005 and 9006? HB4 and H11? 70W vs 55W?

Check your Owner's Manual, but for the 07, the correct bulb is 9006, HB4. I believe the 9006 refers to the connector configuration, the HB4 is the type of bulb capsule used but I'm not positive.

55W. 70W will melt your wires... or rather have the potential to.

Thanks but is there a difference in brightness/color/intensity? I've heard that anything under 3000k and that is named "Stage 1" won't fry the harness or anything, so maybe 70W is ok? I don't know I'm just trying to understand. Would really help the most if someone had any of these products in their Prius.....Please advise. Thanks.

3000K refers to the color of the light emitted from the bulb. It has nothing to do with the amount of power required to run the bulb.

70W refers to the power required to run the bulb. 70 Watts.

The original bulbs were 55 Watts. That is the power (and current) that the connector and wiring are designed to handle.

    P = Voltage x Current

    Current = Power/Voltage

    Current (55w) = 55/12 = 4.6 Amps

    Current (70w) = 70/12 = 5.8 Amps

Ok dogfriend, that helps. Any thoughts, however, that lower lumens/wattage (55W) wouldn't shine as bright as a 70W, despite what the package says?

70W bulbs should be brighter than 55W bulbs, just like for a household light bulb, where a 100W bulb will be brighter than a 75W bulb. But it will consume more power and may heat up the wiring as Tideland suggested. I cannot tell you if the wiring will handle the extra current without knowing the wire size and length of the wire run. It would be safest to stick with the 55W bulbs.

+1. I used a lot of Nokya bulbs back in the rice rocket days... many burned wiring harnesses. Not funny.

I actually now stay away from cheapo bulbs like Nokya (no offense). Had too many not last long and sometimes bubble even when I completely wiped them with rubbing alcohol prior to installation. If upgrading halogen to something "aftermarket", now I either stick to MTEC, PIAA, or maybe maybe something from Sylvania/Bosch if i'm really lazy.

In any given case, 55w because fog lights don't do a heck of a lot anyway. I used to have 6000k HID fogs on my previous 330ci and eh... it was nice but no "holy molly".

Get an HID kit for the fogs. Whenever I turn on the stock fogs I honestly can't even tell that they're on. Since they're so small and low they won't blind oncoming people too!

a 35w 3000k HID kit will give you the yellow look you're looking for......

but if you don't want to put hids ... may I suggest polarg or IPF yellow bulbs

Thanks for all the advice so far. For the record I'm trying to avoid upgrading to HIDs. That's a whole nother beast.

I've still been doing a lot of research about these Nokya bulbs and on some forums (Acura Honda BMW etc), they mention that "70W" on the package actually means they consume 55W but look like 70W. Furthermore couple ppl said when they got their 70W bulbs, the base actually was imprinted with 12V55W, indicating their true wattage. Finally I've heard that Nokya designs their Stage 1 bulbs, specifically, to be able to be used with the stock harnesses in cars.

All of this leads me to believe 70W is ok...Can anyone confirm any or all of the things I listed above though? Thank you!

70W bulbs that are really only 55W bulbs are really only 55W bulbs.

70W bulbs that are really 70W bulbs might not be ok.

Might be worth a shot to just email the seller and ask him to open a package.

IMO, you'll be disappointed with halogen 3000k yellow bulbs... they'll be ever so dim.

I also suggest just sticking a 3000k HID kit ($35-45 on eBay)...the output will be intense. Hopefully the pattern won't fly all over the road and blind others...that's an issue with HIDs in non-projector housings.

SilentAK, you said that you used Nokyas before that burnt your harnesses. How much higher was your Nokya wattage over stock wattage? I'm thinking that 100W or even 80W is way over.

Also, did you see the results Supreme got from installing the 70W Nokya Hyper Yellow bulbs on his Prius. I think it looks pretty good (even though his blue headlight tints bring out the contrast) - this is the look I'm going for. Is this the same "disappointing...dim" color you experienced?

Finally, the ebay sellers havent particularly been helpful. Their answers to the similar questions I've asked have come back as "What this means is that it uses the stock 55watts and produces 70watts of light."

I've heard this is physically impossible. So either its a marketing scheme by Nokya or they dont know what they're talking about. Hmmm...:( Thank you, again in advance.

Back in the day, I *think* my Nokyas were 80watts on the label. I think it was a true 80watt, not a wannabe. Hence why it probably burned the harness. Dumb idea.

Anyway, what I meant by "dim" is that though the picture/color looks fantastic, the actual output to the ground is eh... marginal at best. Not truly functional fog lights since the output is dim and the halogen fogs tend to shoot in every direction instead of specifically pointing to the ground.

IMO, it's a marketing gimmick that they are pulling on you... take it from me. I've gone through soooooooo many sets from Nokyas to Matrix to PIAAs to Polarg...and everything in between.

Now I either stick with the OEM halogen capsules or use straight up HID's.

The other problem i had with aftermarket bulbs like Nokyas was short-life. Even if you wipe them clean with alcohol and what not, none could last more than a year (sometimes 2 with PIAA or Polarg).

What is the install process like for HID's in fogs? Any specific ebay kits you recommend?

Almost the same process, unplug and remove bulb...insert HID bulb, connect bulb to HID harness and module...then connect module to halogen bulb connector. All plug and play.

If you want to save money, I've had good experience with Xentec. Everything is made in China nowadays anyway... they have a regular sized ballast and slim ballast. I've never used the slim ballast yet (just ordered a slim kit for my pkg III).

Where do you mount the ballast?
