My 2005 Prius has 105,000 miles. The check engine light came on for the first time ever. Dealer will diagnose tomorrow. Any thoughts? If it's the main battery, should I sell it? ANY BODY HAVE THIS SITUATION?

Lots of CEL reports in the forums. It's impossible to say what it could be without diagnostic information. Is the car having any symptoms? Make sure the dealer provides you with all the diagnostic trouble codes they pull. Post the DTCs here and some of the experts can guide you from there. Patrick Wong especially is very knowledgeable and always willing to help. I wouldn't let the dealer do the repair until after getting that guidance. Dealers can be and are wrong sometimes, especially with a car as specialized as the Prius.

IF it's the HV battery (don't jump to that conclusion yet), no I would not sell the car. You can find used batteries in good shape from salvage vehicles easily enough and at a considerably lower price than new ones.

FYI, this forum you've posted in is for discussions related to merchandise sold by the PriusChat Shop, not technical or repair questions about the car. Therefore, Patrick and others who otherwise would respond might not see this. If a moderator doesn't see the thread and move it, you might send them a PM and ask them to do so.

Since you are in Joisey, which happens to be a CARB state, your hybrid system's warranty is 150,000 miles / 10 years. Your Prius is still under that hybrid warranty.

If they need to replace the HV battery, KEEP THE CAR!!!!!!!! Because they will replace the HV battery with a NEW one, free of charge to you! Good for another 100,000 miles. :D
