Trouble is, the UK bonnet flaps in the wind and reduces gas mileage unless it is tied on really tight.:)

Its pretty good stuff. A little goes a long way. Good around the house too. Door hinges and stuff.

I like it 'cause its stays on engine and suspension parts without evaporating to bad.

Home Depot sells it it but Lowes does not for some reason although Lowes sells other PB Blaster products.

This amount of rust is normal on every Toyota which was driven in countries where road salt is used. Toyota never cared much about details like rust on unimportant nuts and bolts under a bonnet. They never expected car will last for 50 years anyway. So before those nuts and bolts rust away completely, other parts of the car will disintegrate anyway.

I usually spray those parts with a bit of WD40. 5 years later they look as rusty as at the time they were sprayed.

Do not worry, be happy. :)

P.S. My 2008 Prius is as rusty under the bonnet as the one pictured above. We use road salt extensively here, and mixed with rain and higher speed driving gets mixed into fine mist which finds its path to many hidden parts of the car, for example under the bonnet.

Yes this is a completely different vicosity than WD40. I used to use WD also and 2 weeks later its evaporated and gone. This stuff I posted is designed to stay on the metal and protect it. Its designed to do what I am using it for. To stop rust on nuts and bolts. And it lasts a very long time and works very well.

It does exactly what it advertises.

An older thread now, but what the hell. Ed that stuff is incredible. I put it on an old combination lock that was exposed to salt water, was on my boat locker box. And, it cleaned it up like new, and works better too! ty

I think on the can it even says something like exhaust manifold! Has anyone tried that (spray on high temperature exhaust parts)?

Yes I think there implying the worst of the worst the rusted stuck exhaust manifold bolt on a non running motor. There falling back on there PB Blaster roots there I think. PB Blaster is still the best for that stuff. That and cryo-genics.

Except PB Blaster stinks so bad. Spray it on something on your car and your garage will stink for quite a while. Works good but makes me gag.

    This CSP does not smell.

I am not understanding completely your post but I was talking about the 16CSP:

It says "Exhaust Head" and "Exhaust Manifold" on the bottle:
