There could very well be a trip upcoming!!

No word on a comparable gizmo. But with the CAN codes for the ScanGauge available, it might not be long.

If you plan a trip let me know wayne...will order up the EBH for the new buggy.

Had a great day in the new car today...started finding sweet spots and dialed in the scanguage. Sitting at 67 mpg now after 160 miles...if I can hang on to that for a few hundred miles will have already surpassed my all time high of 66 mpg in my 2009...on my first tank in the 2010! Quite a machine toyota built!

From what I can glean from various threads, it looks like the code to have the headlights turn off immediately is known but too long to enter with a Scangauge, and the code for SoC is not yet known. Is this correct?

SOC is known... see the spreadsheet.

Can you point me to the particular line? Either I need a clue-by-four to the head, or it's really not there for the Gen III. I know I've seen codes for devices that can do a request/response/request/response type thing, but not for the Scangauge, and not on the spreadsheet (except in the Gen II tab).

The thread is excellent, albeit quite technical at times. Wondering if someone might consider putting together a simple tutorial for those of use who will find a way to get a ScanGuage//, however are not technical enough to understand all the ins and outs?

Something w/short chapters and instructions to a) change the reverse beep, b) change the seatbelt beep, c) change the headlight behavior, d) change the mileage options etc.

There is a video a few pages back. It shows how to input the codes for the reverse beep. Seat belt change is <strike>not</strike> possible with the SGII.

Lines 52 and 53 are for seat belt; lines 54 and 55 are for reverse beep. Both work fine, reverse beep is limited to 1 beep and the seat belt beeps are limited to about 6 seconds instead of continuing forever.

I wrote a short "how to" which is on page 17 post number 166, seems to work OK.

That's actually OK, I lost mine sometime ago and it's kind of relaxing because you don't need to worry about stuff any more. :)

    Thank you for the link.

The site has such great information, however it can be hard pulling out the information spread through various posts in threads. Wondering if someday there will be a tool to create a single post w/the most valued content (ie rated content) compressed together. Usually too much work for anyone to handle ~though some people have taken such initiative.

I had the dealer set the setbelt beep using the TechStream tool. Right now the driver seatbelt does not beep and the passenger does.

If I set it to 00 for disable will both setbelt warning go away?

I just ordered my TS2 today.

I just received my Scan Gauge II. I plugged it in and nothing happens. I have tried three cars now, it does not work in any of them. I guess I will call them on Monday and find the best way to get a replacement.

I am an Electrical Eng. and fully understand how things work. This was defective from the start.

I played around with it some more and determined the cable is bad. I can get it to come on if a bend the cable the right way. The display turns off after about 5 seconds if I do not hit a button. I am guessing this is because the cable is bad.

How do I add info to the spread sheet?

    I found that:

    Seat Belt Beep Query
    TXD - 07C021A7
    RXF - 046115A70000
    RXD – 2808
    MTF – 000100010000
Returns a 0040 if the Techstream software disables the seatbelt.

The sheet should be updated with
    00C0 for stock
0040 for driver disable, passenger enabled
    0000 for disable

Is it normal for the Seat Belt Beep Query to return all blank spaces when it means 0000? That is what I am seeing.

How do you change it back to 00C0? Do you change RXF - 046115A70000 to RXF - 046115A700C0

This is my first Prius and first ScanGaugeII. Is there and FAQ that goes into more detail than the one on SGII web site?

The cables are likely OEMed from some crap offshore maker, but
if you want to try fixing yours or building an alternative the
pinout is listed here. You could even fix the bad
    pairing for the CAN lines.
    .
As far as "best of" ... I've tried to pull a lot of stuff into
my link farm over the years, but it is hard to keep track of it
all and my third-gen section is probably lacking quite a bit
including all the good threads on genIII Xgauges. If folks
want to fire specific pointers at me I'll try to add them.

Here is a pic of my Scan Gauge II, it only works if I bend the cable like in this pic.

This is the scratch on the front.

It is not bad. It looks like the front plate is milled and the tool got away from the operator.

I am moving this from a differnt thread. This is were it belongs.

I purchased it from the vendor that Scan Gauge recommends on their site “AutoZoneâ€. I received it this Friday and did not get home until Saturday to open the box. After two days it is still under warranty.

I called on Saturday and they do not open until Monday. I will call both Scan Gauge and AutoZone tomorrow. I hope I do not have to wait 6 weeks to get a replacement from AutoZone. I should not have to wait 6 weeks on replacement because of quality issues.

I posted my issue their first. This thread opened later and seemed to be more active. So I started posting here also.
