Can anyone point me in the right direction of what to get in a bike rack? I am looking for one for my wife's car and she wants it on the back. Any ideas? Thanks!

Get a hitch installed (around $100 or so online) and bolt it on. Then get a Thule T2. Great rack and fits nicely.

I just set mine up with a Draw-Tite receiver hitch and Thule 917XT T2. Seems very solid, but I've not put it on the road yet. Pictures on my profile if you'd like to reference.

Hitch was $80.00 from Kenny's Auto Supply in Cayce, SC + $40.00 to install (which was MUCH better than trying to do it on my back in the drive-way).

Bike Carrier was a good bit more than that, but there are less expensive alternatives. I had been using a 13yo Rhode Gear that fit into the 1 1/4" receiver on my previous vehicle ('08 Yaris). I do highly recommend the Receiver Hitch route over the strap-on trunk mounts.. cannot tell you how many times I've seen those work their way loose.

Thanks for posting the pix of your rack! It looks very sweet. Once you get a few miles on it, please post some sort of a review or at least what your thoughts are in general.

I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks! :)

I agree on the Thule T2. I put a 1&1/4 inch receiver on my 2010 and the Thule works great. I have the two bike rack and it folds down so you can pretty much leave it on. Also, and this turned out to be very nice, when the rack is in the receiver you can open the back hatch and it clears the rack by about an inch. Very convenient, in my opinion.

I concur with the trailer hitches ....

If you live near a Performance Bike retail store, I recommend XSport racks. I've got two of them. Hang on to the receipt, as they come with a lifetime guarantee. Anything ever breaks, they'll give you either money back or a new rack.

Thanks for the review. How do you like the way the rack attaches to the bike with the arms? Is it quick to load a bike? Do the arms rub on the brakes or frame at all?

Thanks for any infomation you can provide! :)
