You *do* know that Galaxee works in a lab? I wouldn't eat anything she sends. And you wonder why you have spots on your liver.

    :p

Okay, I must not hang out in FHOP enough, or my memory is going bad. What does Galaxee study?

The new girlfriend is Italian but with blonde hair and such she doesn't really look the part. :) The Romanian girl is just a really good friend of mine.

The bluebird boxes here are full of babies! Lots of tree swallows, bluebirds, wood ducks and even a few American kestrel boxes full of baby falcons. I don't have any pics of the falcons unfortunately. I was in the hospital when I get the text from one of our high school kids telling me about it. I trust you will take some pictures of the birds and you guiding the tour right? I'd love to see the area you are working in. :)

Dung beetles are pretty much everywhere. :) I took a 3 day course in rangeland science and one of the ways to judge how healthy the soil was is to count the number of dung beetle in cow pie. You dig up the cow pie and surrounding soil and dump it into a bucket of water and after some mixing you count how many beetles are swimming around. lol As for the blue racer, I had to look it up. I have never seen one. They look pretty cool for a snake <shivers>. :)

Thank you. :) It's been a long road, but with the help of many friends along the way, it was not as bad as it could have been. ;)

I wonder if she can confirm the message presented in this PSA. :)

Oops, I forgot the pics for Nerfer.

Pics from bluebird box monitoring in May. The pics are of the girls and their father performing monitoring duties, baby wood ducks, and a baby tree swallow close-up shot. :)

What a journey.....glad you seem to be doing well and I hope you have a speedy recovery!

Funny how life works. I was thinking this morning how I never see any F8L posts anymore, and I attributed it to me haunting the Gen III forum instead of the Gen II forum. Never occurred to me that you were having extended health issues (I did recall the original post about cancer roughly a year ago).

Anyhow, glad to read you are doing better.

Somehow I missed this post. :(

Thank you for the kind thoughts my friend. :)

I am scheduled for a CT scan early next month. This will help determine if the cancer has spread to my liver. I have suspicious spots on my liver that showed up on previous scans but they remain the same and never grow so they may just be some normal spotting and not cancer. I was undergoing chemo during the previous scans and that may have inhibiting cancerous growth so now that I have been off chemo for a few months, this CT scan may determine whether those spots are cancer or not. I'm worried about the results but what can you do? :)

I'll update again after I receive the scan results!

I missed out on a lot of fun, too. I'd almost like to go back, just for the parties. But, like you, I got an education. :)

I fall into the same category. I went to school for an education. Besides, I was married through most of college.

I wish you well my friend. You will know where you stand as you get more information. When you have bad news, it isn't that bad; and when you have good news, it isn't that good.

The CT scan came back with possibly bad news attached to it. Seems I have a new spot (1cm) that is likely cancerous. I am scheduling a needle aspiration biopsy to remove and study it. That is the bad news, that I may now be officially considered stage 4 cancerous. The "good" news is that some forms of cancer are still ...curable after they have reached your liver and my cancer is one of them. Fortunately, like my girlfriend stated, you can live with much of your liver removed so a small chunk being removed will be no big deal. I can only hope that if this spot is cancer then there are no other undetectable cells hiding out in there.

This news would have been easier to accept a year ago but life has been so good to me lately that this new lump is difficult to swallow. I'm sure much of the difficulty has to do with my feelings for my girlfriend. It's rather hard to accept the fact that I may not live long enough to enjoy such a fulfilling relationship after 35yrs of searching for someone special. :( I have to stop now. I'll write more later.
