How to set Auto Dim mirror default to Off

    I have the Gen3 with auto dim mirror. The factory default is ON everytime the car starts. I prefer to keep it at Off by default because it is too dark for me during day time.
    I may be misreading the instructions Page 93 on the Owner's Manual and I can't get it to stay on Off by default.
    Can anyone help?

    I believe the instructions are pretty clear in saying it returns to Auto everytime you press the power switch (start the car), so as you stated, the default is ON. There is not a default OFF option. Covering the sensor with black tape so there is no light input may get you there.:

    "The mirror will revert to the auto mode each time the "POWER" switch is turned to ON mode."

    I wasn't 100% sure that I understood the instruction on the manual when it say "The mirror will revert to the auto mode each time the "POWER" switch is turned to ON mode."
    The part that got me confused is which "POWER" switch that they are refering to? The big round "POWER" button to start the car, or the "I" power button on the mirror to power on the auto dim feature?
    Now that you have clarified it for me - There is no way to change to default from AUTO ON to OFF. I have to turn it off every time I start the engine during day time. Thanks. :)
