I live in Phoenix and the weather is 112 today. I left my 2005 Prius sitting in the sun for about 1.5 hours. When I started it..it was ok...no warning lights..but about 2 blocks down the road it started chugging REAL bad. Didn't think I was going to make it across a very busy intersection. Then about a mile later, it got back to normal. Must have something to do with the cooling system? I'm taking it to the dealer saturday. Anyone able to tell me what to say to the mechanics. This has happened to me a couple times. Only happens iin extreme heat.

Don't overlook the fuel system either. Did it generate any indicators on the dash? If the dealer charges you for a diagnostic check, make sure you get the codes. You paid for them.

I thought you meant it was too hot to go for a jog.

Tell them exactly what happened, just like you told us. The car's behaviour sounds almost like an electrical problem, or fuel supply, but I don't know why it would be heat-related. Do you let the car run a bit at first, or just start it and go?
