Our prius is a half year old today
Have about 8200 klm or 5100 mls.
Average life time consumption 16.73 klm /liter or about 39.28 MPG but improving all the time.
Tomorrow the car will take it's longest trip. Hope this tank breaks my record which is 19.3 klm /liter or about 45.3 MPG
Thanks for all help over this half year
Just for comparision previous car has 10.1 klm / liter or about 23.5 MPG so it is quite an improvement.
    Danny:)

Must be something wrong. Seriously wrong. Without trying I get 4.5 liters/100 KM. When trying I hit 3.5 litres/100 KM (admittedly with much coasting outside of rush hour traffic with no one behind me). Maybe defective display computer ?

OP lives in a warm climate and may use his AC extensively. He may also drive more aggressively than you.

    Hi dpaul
I stated real MPG and not computer display which is better.
I do live in a warm climate, do not drive aggressively but have a steep altitude change of about 1500 ft with heavy traffic on a 5 mile stretch every morning.
I will add that on flat conditions I can get 4.2 -4.3 liters / klm even with four people in the car and A/C on.
Of course I do strive to get better and the car is possibly still breaking in.;)

It is easier for me to think like that .
    I usually get about 5.4 -5.6 l/100 display best 4.8 l/100:)

Wound up breaking my record only slightly being that I drove thru very hilly areas. I finished the tank at 19.6 klm/liters (5.1 l/100 or just over 46 MPG) There were stretches of the trip that were much better :(

46 MPG is much better. And warm climate has nothing to do with the fuel economy. Or at least it shouldn't affect it that much. I live in Arizona (110+ degrees every day). still averaging 48+ mpg.
