advertising is what politicians grew up on which is the main reason why we are in such trouble now. we have a million needs, only a small handful (for the very rich) have been met and we are financial trainwreck with no brakes heading fullspeed towards an impenetrable brick wall. what do you think we should do?

    A) take a good hard look at the money we are spending and realign our priorities?

    B) continue the misinformation campaign funded by big oil that allows us to burn oil at a subsidized rate that will only have to be paid back with interest later (for those of you that balance several credit card payments, let me advise you that the repayment is not possible)

all we hear about is how much we cannot afford to do the right thing. how many people who would get hybrids or EV's if it were cheaper, more convenient, etc. well, it all costs money and i am all for a government handout to allow people to get a Prius or a Leaf or a whatever if it will significantly reduce their usage of gasoline.

so to get the money we need to start charging $2 a gallon for gas to pay for it. there is no other way to do it. besides greatly reducing the amount of gas used (we all simply cannot afford to buy gas at that rate so once again, only the rich will be served, but we cant get the money thru our tax system which really only benefits the very well off, so this will work)

now we will have the money to install charging stations aplenty. range anxiety will not be eliminated but exactly what kind of anxiety is anyway???

for an example of how much money the government has

    P.S.

now, i realize that the average PC'er is at or near the "well off" category and increased taxes u might think would be unfair, but fact of the matter; that is simply the cost of life. without the support structure of the "working poor" i think u would find this a place not worth living in.

This reminds me of an article i read back when the iPhone 4 came out. There was some heavy debate about the "retina display" and that Jobs may have been over stating things... One guy pointed out that exaggeration is a simple fact in advertising. You could build the best monitor in the world, but if you advertised the actual specs you wouldn't sell any of them because all the other monitors out there would list better specs.
