I'm staying in GM Headquarters in Detroit! I'm so excited!

The government gave GM a shitload of money. Something like a tenth or less of that was designated as a "loan." The rest was a stock purchase. But since the government chooses not to exercise its voting rights on that stock, that money was in effect a gift. GM has paid back the portion designated as a "loan" but still has the other 9/10 of what we the taxpayers gave them.

 

I would kill for a Lafayette Coney Island Chili dog.
