    Hi Guys,

I recently bought a Prius and was wondering if there is any rebate from state/federal for buying a new hybrid cars in 2010 that you guys are aware of?

    Thanks

Since I was buying a new Prius, I did not look into the tax breaks for other hybrids. For my car, the federal benefit is long gone (too many cars sold :)).

But I was able to get a rebate on the 3% excise tax that NM charges. Your state situation may vary.

Update: In Albuquerque, hybrids can also ignore parking meters.

I seriously doubt Nissan's tax credits have run out since the above shows that it hasn't even gone to the 50% phase out period yet. The NAH is Nissan's only hybrid, for now and it's only sold in CARB states, which now (IIRC) numbers 9, formerly 8.

It sells in pretty small numbers as you can see by June 2010 Dashboard: Economy and Low Gas Prices Take Toll on Hybrid Sales | Hybrid Cars.

I wrote the comment then read the links I provided but didn't bother to edit the post. :) I see quite a few Altima hybrids in California so I thought maybe they would have been low in incentives by now but I was definitely wrong.

You'll have to move to Washington, DC to get it, but they charge zero sales tax for all (I think) hybrids. Just bought '10 Prius III and that saved a boatload!

Yep, when I lived in CA, I also saw quite a few NAHs on the road.

The factory to dealer incentives/rebates to customers on the NAH are huge too ($4500 for NY zip code, when I checked yesterday), making the car quite a bargain when combined w/the Federal tax credit. It also gets the AT-PZEV emissions and 10 year/150K mile HV battery warranty.

My dealer never added it to the sales agreement.
