Gave it a good thorough washing after a dry, dusty and really hot week in a paved parking lot with no shade.

Just purchased a Prius IV with the moon roof ETC... Ribbon Blue on Friday and I spent all day detailing the vehicle since it was done at half measure at the dealership.

I took out the cabin air filter, cleaned it a bit, and decided to order a new one.

This week it's getting a thorough wash & wax. And an oil change & new tires in the next few weeks.

Do you guys use Armor All or anything like that? I used to years ago, but heard it's actually bad for the plastic in the long run, plus I don't like breathing in chemicals.
I wonder if there's a better product to use.

Aeropspace 303 protectant is a good one for rubber and plastic. It makes things look more new than greasy shiny. It's harder to find but full range autoparts stores often have it as do pool and spa supply stores and boating stores. Or you can go the Aerospace303 website and use their store locator.

I'm not an Armor All fan but think they get a bad rap. A lot of people start using it because their plastic is on it's last legs and then goes ahead and fails so they blame Armor All. I've known people who used it from new for many years and didn't have any problems except for the artificially shiny Armor All look. Some people like the greasy look.

I'm not a fan of armor all anymore. Seems like dirty and dust stick to your dash soooo much faster when it's on there.

My Prius started out the day bring home a load of about 15 10" rocks to finish forming the garden edging project we started yesterday by hauling home 11 10" rocks (and walking home on the dolly a 15 cubic inch rock that my dh refused to try and lift into the car.)

Unfortunately, although we own the cargo liner from Lee Valley Tools (which fits very nicely) AND we carry it in the car all the time, "just in case", we failed to take the time to install it so ended up with a lot of dirt in the car.

So after masquerading as a cargo hauler, I took the vacuum to it and turned the Prius back into a passenger car. There were a few spots of dirt that didn't vacuum up so I wiped those bits down, treated a pre-existing spot on the back seat, and then dusted off the outside with the California duster to bring back the shine.

Then I hemmed the edge of the new antenna flag I bought and put it on along with a smiley face antenna ball to hopefully hold this one in place. The flag makes the car a lot easier to find in the parking lots and I've missed having one since the last one came off in a rain storm.

Well, yesterday, the Zhang Heng went to a car show in Pompton Lakes, NJ. Won a trophy for traveling the Farthest Distance to get there. Missed my chance to geek out on them when the announce asked where I had come from. Obvious answer would have been "40 Eridani A, only about 16 light-years." Still three months at Warp Factor 4.

Factory ROOF RACK. Beautiful aerodynamics and adjustable. No noises at highway speed. Very Strong. Very useful for everything from wood beams to a bike rack or top carrier. Fits into the top channels nicely.

My car was bought with a lot of damage for cheap. It's a 2006 with 175,xxx. IMG_0550.JPG IMG_0553.JPG IMG_0552.JPG I fixed up everything and it gets in the high 40's in fuel efficiency. Loaded with almost every option and it's a pleasure to drive. IMG_0550.JPG IMG_0553.JPG IMG_0552.JPG

The rack cost $26 at the Auto Salvage. BTW the fog lights cost $9 at an overstock store and makes the road %100 brighter. Cosmetically not perfect, so it's perfect for me.

I like this type or thread, I know it's old but always interesting what you accomplished and who doesn't like to brag some?

So with that here's what I got done on my Prius today:
    Oil Change
    Spark Plugs
    New Fog Lights
    New Front Door Speakers
