MY "little" brother ask me if the new Prius has enought leg room for a guy 6-5. Not just for a test drive but for the long days he spends in the car. Any 6-5 or taller here?
    Thanks, Jay

We have a few members who are that tall, Jimbo and Hill are two of the most prominent and they say they have no issues with space in their Prius IIs. I'm only 6'3" so I have tons of room but my roomate is 6'5" and has disproportionately long legs and he is really cramped in my car. When he rides shotgun I cannot open the little storage compartment under the stock radio because his knees are in the way. If he is driving then his knees touch the shifter handle.

This is all in a GenII and not as applicable to your question but the GenIII has more room up front and seat travel so if tall guys can be comfortable in a GenII then all should be well with the newer version. :)

I am 6' 6" and have done numerous long trips in the gen3 Prius.
I recently drove for eight hours with my wife sitting behind me in the back seat. I'd just stop about every three hours and stretch my legs. Just like any other car.
It's not like I have a lot of room, but I stay comfortable.

I'm 6'5 and have a 2010 III. I've always has small British sports cars so I'm used to short legroom. I actually move the seat up when I'm using a large rental car cause I'm used to my legs being well bent.

    Go for it!

6'5", 300+ here. Unable to even SIT in a Gen II, now a proud owner of a Gen III.
Longest trip was from LI to D.C., 4+ hours. Not much extra room but when you fall as far outside 2 standard deviations of the statistical mean as I do, you don't expect much. Same creaky knees and back as when I had the 300C.
Added benefit is that the Boss (come on, you know who I mean) says that there is MORE room behind me in the Prius than there was in the 300C. Imagine that!

Thanks everyone. I'll past this info to my brother. I didn't know that the gen 3 had more leg room. I'm glad the Boss bought a gen3.
FWIW I am 6foot even and I have only owned two cars that have more legroom then I could use. My 96 VW passat and my 83 MB 300D. If I put the seat all the way back on the Benz,I can just touch the peddles.
    Thanks again, Jay

remember that the prius is officially a "midsize" car according to the US GOV. that puts it in the same category as the camry, altima, mazda 6. Those are all bigger, but not by that much.

My son-in-law is 6'5" and 300 lbs. When he sits in the back seat of my wife's Honda Accord I have to slide the driver's seat all the way to the front to give him leg room.

When he got in the Prius I reached down to move the seat and he said not to bother. He had plenty of leg room. He was amazed how small the Prius looks from the outside but how much room there is on the inside.

Totally different front seats in the 3rd Gen. Prius over the 2nd - 1" wider between rails, seat frame sized larger, ~ 2.5" more backward slide, height adjustment, lumbar support in the IV, V, telescopic steering wheel pulls towards driver, larger seat bottom cushion.

Personally, I would caution anyone near 6' considering a 2nd Gen. Sit in a 3rd Gen, then 2nd Gen, big difference.

6'5" still kinda tall for new Prius of course, but it's doable and all personal preference.
