So ICE is off and the gauge says 100mpg. Clearly thats incorrect, as is a 100mpg reading on the interval fuel consumption display.

So I'm just wondering, is that 100mpg number used in the math for the average fuel consumption display?

Pretty sure the answer would be no but..... I'd just like to hear it

the total mileage you drive without using any gas is averaged in with the rest of the mileage and divided by total gas used. the 100mpg really means no gas being consumed.:)

Except when it actually means 100 or more mpg.

Usually it means infinite mpg, and the average data is not distorted, whether it is infinite or >=100 (as bisco says).

Of course, the average in most Gen3's are distorted in the other direction, as evidenced by the excess of reported mpg over calculated mpg.

In EU when the ICE is running and the car is stopped, it shows 0L/100km.

True, but in fact you are using fuel. The instantaneous fuel consumption will shoot up to 10L/100km as soon as you move the car.

Average fuel consumption will show up a full bar (>= 10L/100km) for each minute of ICE running with the car not moving.
The average fuel consumption will also change over time increasing when the ICE is running and the car not moving.

If the car has not been moving since the ICE has turned on and the Trip counter has been reset, it will show 99L/100km average.
