You're the genius who made the statement. Its just common sense after that.

"Hey guys, I didnt want to play games with the dealer, so I agreed to their price of 3 grand over sticker, did I get a good deal?"

But welcome to the site, your complimentary tampon is in the mail.

Picked up our new 2010 Prius III w/Nav and Floormats in Blizzard Pearl. MSRP was $26,825, we got it for $22,086 out the door (this figure includes TTL). 10 miles on the odo when we drove her off the lot at 9:30 last night. It was a battle, but we feel victorious!

Too good of a price. My guess is the dealership low-balled him on his trade.

Trade was a 2007 GMC Sierra Ext Cab 2WD SLT with only 20,406 miles. It was in mint condition. Yes, they did low ball me on it, they gave me $19,500 and I probably could have sol it myself for at least $3K more, but it saved me the hassle of selling it and I got the tax break for having a trade.

We are very happy with it, actual deal ended up being close to $3200 under Invoice (this includes the $1000 dealer incentive cash). I went through the USAA buying service which guaranteed any 2010 Prius on the lot at $3000 under Invoice, we managed to squeeze another $200 out of them being as it was the last day of the month. It was a long day, so we feel we earned it!

USAA actually utilizes AutoNation, and I got a call this morning from the rep who was helping me. I think he was surprised at how well we did to. He also mentioned that prices and incentives vary depending on the market. He said that currently, in FL, where he's located, the best they can offer is $500 under invoice. So, I'm not sure why the incentives are so good in Atlanta, either they are selling a lot and can afford to cut the price due to volume of sales, or they can't sell them at all and are trying to get rid of them.

Team Toyota, where e purchased sold 21 cars yesterday, 3 were Prius'!

For the incredibly low price they quoted you on the Prius, $19,500 for your truck doesn't sound like a low-ball price to me, at all.

All things considered, I'd say you got an outstanding deal. You must have hit the dealer at just the right time in that they must really be looking to get rid of new Priuses and want big-trucks in trade at the same time. I'd read that gas-guzzlers were back in vogue and that kind of a deal may be proof.

I think going through USAA and it being the last day of the month had a lot to do with it. USAA uses AutoNation's buying service, and I had a follow-up call from the Rep who was assisting me with the purchase and he said a lot had to do with the location where I live. For some reason, the incentives here in Atlanta are quite high right now. Going through USAA guaranteed me a price of $3000 below Invoice on any 2010 Prius they had on the lot at Team Toyota (an AutoNation Dealership). In Florida, he said that would have been only $500 below Invoice at an AutoNation Dealership. Being the last day of the month and the last sale of the day probably had a lot to do with being able to squeeze another $200 out of them.

The truck was appraised at $19,000 by CarMax, who always tend to low-ball. I think the $19,500 was fair, but I was asking $23,500 and I think I could have gotten at least $22,000 had I been patient and sold it myself (the truck listed for $34K new in 2007 and only had 20K miles). But then again, trading saved me the hassle of selling it and got me the tax savings of having a trade that was almost as much as the purchase price. Going in I wanted to just swap key with no money exchanging hans, but I guess that didn't happen!

I use USAA as well...and I dont think USAA helped at all this time around. Their best deal was only $666 bucks off sticker through their buying program. (for a barebones II) The lease deal I ended up making on a III was WAY better than what they could offer. I used them when I bought my Challenger...but this time around. No help.

The rep did say the incentives and discounts vary greatly depending upon location. The example he cited (and I mentioned previously) was the difference between his location in Florida, where the best they could do was $500 below Invoice, and Atlanta where they were offereing $3000 below invoice. It's crazy, and in this case, I guess I was lucky to be shopping for a Prius in the Atlanta market!

What's the lowest amount it would cost to join USAA? If it's a relatively minor amount, I can see lots of people joining, then making the trek down to the Atlanta area just to scarf up a Prius at $3000 under invoice. For those kinds of beans, it'd be worth the effort.

In order to join USAA have to be active duty military, retired military or a dependent of either an Active Duty or retired Military Member. There may be others who can join as well, but it a pretty select group and normally there has to be a military affiliation. You can check their website for details. There is no cost to become a member.

I just purchased a red 2010 Prius iii with the Solar/Nav package. The price was like $25,900 and I was OTD for a bit under $27,000. I also got the 7 year/75,000 mile extended platinum level warranty for $920 on top of that. No trade-in.

I'm feeling like that was a good deal, as the dealer cost of the car is listed at $25,100 or so on various online sites, so they made less than 3% profit from me, which seems totally fair and reasonable IMO.

Actually bought it last Friday. So they made another sale at the end of the month, covered their overhead but didn't rake in a huge profit, I got a car I wanted at a price I can live with and didn't give them the farm with it or anything. Seems a win-win.

I'm picking up the 2010 Prius IV this week (Sticker price $32,0xx). I'm leasing for 36 month 12,000 mile/yr. Dealer gave me options for $0 down $435/month or $3000 down for $360/month. Tax not included.

Does this considered as an ok deal?
