We can agree on how much he deserves it but it is important that he feels he earned it.

Yeah, and because I love the Prius so much (I've been into them since 2005) I want to feel like the car is really mine, and feel like a earned it, so thats why I want to get a job. I tried to get a job at 15, but I couldn't because of labor laws. So now that I just turned 16, I have been looking non-stop because I want to pay for my own stuff, I want to look at my Prius and say, I paid for that car, so its mine.

He reminds me of myself at that age. At age 13 I wrote dBase II apps for a local computer store to pay for my computer habit, it paid $35 an hour. My Dad gave me a loan with interest and a payment book for my first Moped at age 14. I paid it off early and paid cash for every car after that. I purchased my first new car at age 22 and paid cash. I built my first house at age 24 and did most of the work my self.

‘That Prius Car’ at age 16 what do you want to do with your life? If electric cars are your passion you should build one. Convert an old MG Midget into an electric car. Learn to weld using MIG and TIG systems. You can learn all about motor control systems on the net. If you do not have access to tools make Harbor Freight your friend.

With your passion of this technology it will only benefit you later in life.

The video of me running around my Prius was all in fun. I did not mean to offend you.

Nah, Its cool, I was just like, "he must not like me." Like, I try to be a good person, and I wasn't in any way trying to "show off." I think that would be rude. I just love my Prius so much, and since I already know everything about the Gen.2 like voltages, MG1 torques MG2 torques, RPM's, and speeds, BHP's ect. I have a lot more to learn with this new one! I already learned from the scanguageII from the white plug-in Prius, that the electric motor MG1 (I think thats the one used to propel the car) spins up to 13,000 RPM, compared to only 5,000 from the previous generation, so it can help at higher speeds! Anyways, I just wanted to show you guys the car. Feel free to upload more of yours! Yours is super nice looking!

P.S. Yes, even when I was in 7th grade (13 years old) I called an Ice Cream shop in town and asked if I could get a job there cleaning the floors, or making ice cream, ect. Just anything I could do to make money of my own because at that time, I wanted to buy an old first generation Prius. I knew I could barley afford it, so I decided that I could get an old Insight for really cheap and hold it back for when I start driving. Now, I have a new Prius, and love the car to death. I think a good fast job would be me working at K.C. summers Toyota detailing cars, I'm really good at that, and I love cars (when I say cars, I mean the Prius haha.) and I think that it would be okay until I can work my way up to marketing the Prius, and demoing it at Auto Shows ect.

My Dad took me to buy a car when I was 15...he suprised me by getting me the car I wanted not the car he thought would be good for me...top of the line Mustang Ghia with V8, leather wrap, wire wheel covers leather seats...I still get misty eyed thinking about it...Like a lot of things your first great car is always going to be your best.

Enjoy. I'm sure you will have many rides in your life but You will never like another one better.

Hey, you and I have (almost) the same car! I've had mine for four weeks as of today, and it has a few more miles though--try 800+. I'm loving it, & I think you will too. I enjoyed your video. =)

I am sure a lot of us would be interest to hear about your converted P4. Please start a new thread so we can hear more. BTW, I admire your passion on the Prius. How you get your money to buy your car is none of our business. It's no sin to be born rich (or born poor). Like Judgeless posted, his video wasn't meant to offend anyone. He just want to make this forum more fun. Here in Prius Forum, all we care is the Prius, your passion and love of it. Cheers.

Paying is one way to earn it. You can also earn it by owning it. Take care of it really good and use it to the best of it.

    Exactly.
Some people on here thought it was stupid and "show offy" that I still had my papers on my window and plastic on the door sills, but in all honesty, I like to walk out there and look at it and read the paper & stuff. I left the plastic on the door sills because I don't want to scuff them while getting in and out, and I even spent about $70 on the Zaino wax (THE BEST, AND I RECOMMEND IT HIGHLY.) I never drive it in bad weather, I bought a towel and a little towel to keep on the dash for when it does sit in the sun so the dash and console doesn't bake. When I do drive it, I stay about 1000 feet away from the person in front of me so that way I don't get chips, or dings, I avoid gravel roads, and between you and the rest of us, this car has never been over 60mph! lol. This is my new baby, and I love her, and plan on keeping her for a long time! I even got under the car with the RinseLess Car Wash, (also very awesome, but costly.) and cleaned all, and I mean ALL the under carriage, and used lots of Micro Fiber towels. (It wasn't dirty at all anyway, it only has 65mi and it also helped that this car has always been indoors, we got it with only 3mi and it was on the lot only for a day, and brought her home to the garage, so this car has never been driven in the rain or anything.) but I cleaned it anyway to give me a piece of mind haha. I respect what I have. :)
    EDIT:
By the way, if you watched the video, you can see my MPG! :)
Its 65.5 and thats doing the speed limit. Plus, I live in the middle of no-where and its just a two lane highway (speed limit 55) so thats how that was achieved, WITHOUT EVEN TRYING! :)

Whether you deserve this car or not is between you and your parents. My point is that you posted a thread about not liking the Prius 3rd gen. And now, we find out that you have not driven your new Prius at all. How can one have strong opinion of a car without really driving it? That thread almost convinced me that you had thoroughly compared the two cars.

BTW, it is kinda weird to still have the window sticker on the car after one month. You can easily appreciate the sticker in your own hands. (I like to pull out the window sticker every now and then too with my cars...but, i much rather read it while holding it rather than having to walk out to my garage to read it on my car window!)

Hey, you might think about getting a clear bra on it, to cut down on the paint chip problem. Do it before there are any paint chips.

*Note* Once again, this is brad_rules_man. LOL he was logged on my computer, and I totally didn't realize it.

He knows the 3rd gen well. He has been driving my two 3rd gen cars as far back as December. He is weird about the sticker, but /shrug I guess it's whatever suits him. When he starts driving I'm going to insist he removes it for visibility reasons though.

We've been thinking about that Rae Vynn! We are currently looking at something called "xpel, or xpell." It looks to be really good. I think he should put it on his red car, I was going to put it on my gold car but I know for a fact I will be trading it for a Leaf, so I'm not sure all the extra money will be worth it.

Well, we had the 2010 V model for over a year now (bought last June) and I didn't like the leather or the ride the tires gave, so thats why I had a lot of experience with the 3rd Gen. Only now am I realizing that I actually like it. The only two things I didn't like was the MID and its very hard to pulse and glide. (In the 2nd Gen., I usually knew that I was gliding because I could push the gas pedal down a few inches, or let it up depending on conditions, and all the arrows on the MFD would go away showing nothing was being used, the only thing moving was the wheels and the MPG readout said 99.9, and on these flat roads, I could go for awhile coasting which really helped my MPG. In the 3rd Gen., your almost always using power, or supplying power thus causes resistance. I love the car though, and I'm learning her more and more so thats what matters.

    Haha, yes I do. :p
But not with just my car, everything has to be in order and clean.
Even in my shower, I have to wash first, then rinse, then wash again, then rinse, then shampoo and condition my hair, then rinse, then wash my body again to get all the oils from the conditioner off. If I don't do it right, I have to repeat the whole process.

    P.S.
I call it "CDO instead of OCD, that way there in ABC order. :p"

Me too. Do not let it run your life. Here are pics of my house. It has OCD written all over it.
