maybe the journey that you took was more "exciting" and enjoyable.

That Prius Car, Don't listen to stream, I wish I could by my kids a new car.

Just take your friends on a long road trip, and you will easily love the car, and your friends will love the leg/headroom in the back...

For anyone who gives you lip about the car, just ask them how much they spend a month on fuel, and then you tell them how much you spend....

And serious take a road trip...
We did it all the time when I was a kid...
Beach trip, camping etc. and the prius is great to carry stuff.

This is my philosophy, personal philosophy. But imo, none of the reasons you site are reasons anyone "deserves a Prius". The Prius is an automobile, and if you own one? It's a tool, and an asset, and a mode of personal transportation. We can all like them or hate them or feel any way we want to about them, that has nothing to do with deserving one.

We don't come into this world deserving anything. You'd hope for, clean air, clean water, and opportunity to better one's self and pursue one's dreams...be they of owning a Prius or changing the world...

I'll sound corny, but the greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return...

If that love manifests in buying someone a Prius? More power to ya. That's cool, That's Okay...but it's not "deserved". There is no intrinsic correlation between actions and what people "deserve". I wish there was sometimes but there isn't. Bad people do bad things and become rich S.O.B. s, with any automobile or toy they want, Good people do good things, and die with nothing.

I saw 3 threads. One with a 16 year old kid who was in what appeared to be a pretty scary accident. Who flipped and lost his beloved automobile. The second was a thread proclaming that he was having buyers remorse over the replacement and PURCHASE of a generation III in comparison to his lost gen II, and the 3rd was this thread, which was more or less just sharing a video of his now evidently much loved new Generation 3 Prius.

I'm not going to criticize a 16 year old kid for wanting an automobile or loving an automobile. Do I know this kid? No...of course not? So how or why should I make any judgements about what he may or may-not "deserve". I'll just say, by my way of thinking, nobody "deserves a Prius". You either have the means, resources and/or desire to obtain one, or you don't. Ownership is not based on "deserves". When you go to buy one? They'll run a credit check...not a "deserves one" check...I wish it wasn't so, but that is the truth.

So I'm glad "That Prius Kid" is happy.

Any criticism is a waste of time. I would only say that his post proclaiming "Buyers Remorse" over his Generation III in retrospect seems somewhat "accidently" disingenuos. He should of been more careful about his wording. As it seems to me it was never really "Buyers Remorse" as he did not buy it, and evidently IS crazy in love with his automobile. Had he titled it, " I love my Generation III but am still Missing my departed Generation II..that would of been, I think, a more honest reflection of his feelings.

I was surprised when I saw this thread and realized that The Prius Kid, had barely driven his new automobile AND already had other Prius in his enviroment. How much remorse could you have? He should of been familiar with Generation III so nothing should of been a big surprise.

But ultimately? I saw a 16 year old kid, enchanted with his automobile...and the world of Prius. That' fine with me. There are certainly worse things to be obssesed by...

I figure when I die? If people say, "He got what he deserved!" that's not such a bad epitaph...depending on the life you've chosen to strive to live.....

 

No can do. His license isn't valid for anyone under the age of 18 who isn't family, and it's not valid from like 10pm-4am. In fact. ugh there are so many new laws for kids licenses in IL it's ridiculous.

 

The Electric Me, I understand and your post makes sense. He's mixed up and has been through a lot. I don't know why he is feeling the way he is. I try to convince him every day he made the right decisions. Everyone should always look back and be glad that the decisions brought them to where they are unless things are terrible. But things are good!

 

California has similar restrictions for kids who get their licenses...at 16 (it's called a provisional license).

I'm glad they do.

I personally don't think 16 year olds should be driving, and the last thing you want is them in a car with a bunch of their friends, being distracted while they learn one of the most dangerous things they'll do in their lives.

 

Honestly, I am giving big props to this, VERY well done. This is why the internet is so great. Almost falling over was a great touch.
