Just got my new 2010 Prius III today, and found a surprise in the hatch. Two extra parts wrapped in plastic. After searching the internet, and digging through the car looking for a place they could go, i have come up with nothing. The parts are labeled LH-1, and RH-1. RH-1 has a door on it, and a clip to hold it on. LH-1 just has screw holes.

Attached is a picture, any help is greatly appreciated.

They look to me like interior parts due to the snaps.

The toyota part numbers do not come up in any search.
52108-47020 Labeled RH-1 and has the door on it.
    52109-47020 Labeled LH-1

Attached is better pictures of RH-1. At the top is the door.

I do believe you are right.

BUMPER SUB-ASSY, REAR SIDE, RH 52108-47010
BUMPER SUB-ASSY, REAR SIDE, LH 52109-47010

Found 2005 Prius part numbers that just about matched up perfectly. Now the question is, why isn't this already attached???

I would take the car back to the dealer and ask what they are, if they are needed, and if they are, why weren't they installed? If they are extra ask them if they want to buy them back.

Funny, those are just the parts I was looking for online (for my '05 Prius). They are indeed the splash guards. LH = left hand, RH = right hand.
