WSJ: Release of Toyota Documents Blocked, Ex-Official Says

I too am very sceptical of anyone claiming s/w infallability based on what was recorded in blackbox. I've worked on all kinds of specialty / pc / server h/w running software/firmware.

 

Perhaps mrs smith doesn't know how to put the car into neutral?

Considering this is what her shift level looks like:

 

I think she said she tried neutral and she definitely said the shifter was still in reverse when the car came to a stop with the front wheels still driving madly but with no traction due to the grassy knoll...oops, sorry grassy median.
