    FYI
    Compiled from hybridcars.com
Number of units sold per month in the US.
No distinction between model II and III (e.g. 2009 and 2010)

Again only US market, but this time compared with all other hybrids. Same data source.

I would assume the dip in Jan/Feb of 2010 had to do with all of Toyota's bad press during this period?

Not necessarily. The beginning of the calendar year is typically a seasonally low period for auto sales, with many consumer suffering from the post-holiday financial hangover.

The new ZVW30s hit the dealer lots beginning in May and really in June 2009. Within a month or so, I no longer saw the NHW20s except for some of the 'high end' units. By September, I didn't see any more of the NHW20s.

Perhaps someone might ask Team Prius . . . if it does not break a confidence?

    Prius Team to the rescue.

The sales slowdown early this year was due to three factors:
    - Typical winter slowdown
    - Recall press/news
    - We actually had a stop sale on Prius for a period

And because I love you guys, here's the average breakdown to date (though this has shifted significantly from Vs to IIs over time):

    Prius II: 26%
    Prius III: 31%
    Prius IV: 31%
    Prius V: 12%

Last july Toyota benefited greatly from the cash for clunkers program in the USA. which is why it looks so different

Props to the Prius Team for a KickA$$ lease deal back in July. Proud owner of a 2010
Prius III because of that smokin' hot deal. $264 total cash down, $264 a month. sweet. 50 mpg's all the way to key west.

I just added another graph, this time showing sales of Prius vs sales of all other hybrids.
