    Intermittent flashing overhead lamps

Has anyone witnessed this weirdness? It just started in the last few weeks. After powering down and opening the doors, the overhead lamps will intermittently flash on and off (in a fairly slow succession...i.e. 5-10 seconds between cycles). I thought the 3 settings were: Always on, on when door(s) is ajar OR always off. I have it set to the middle setting and this oddity has me stumped (maybe I need to revisit the manual).

Which light on the dash ?
If you mean the airbag light, the number and frequency of the flashes are usually a code to an airbag fault. It could be something as simple as a loose connection under the seat to the seat belt pre-tensioners.

I have a security light which flashed after powering down. Right side of dash, car icon with a key-hole. Not mentioned in manual, so I called the dealer.

^That's normal as far as I know.

And apologies on my original post; not dash light but the overhead lamps which have the 3-notched switch to which I alluded above.

They are called the interior dome lights and they are not suppose to flash like this unless it is set for DOOR and one or MORE of the door sensors have been installed incorrectly and/or shorted out.

Try putting the sensor in the OFF position and see if this is the same issue or is it happening in the "door" mode...

^Appreciated. I believe it's only happening in the door mode but I will confirm. Perhaps one or more of the sensors has become faulty.
