My Prius is about two months old and I have had several issues with the auxiliary jack. I use it to listen to my iPod and a few weeks ago, the sound was very muffled. I was able to fix it by moving the cable around and it was fine. This has happened a few more times. But yesterday, it started happening and i can't fix it. The sound is very low and muffled. If I move the cable around the sound is fine, but when I let go of the cable, it's back to being bad. Has this happened to anyone, or does anyone know how I can fix this without taking my car in for service? Thanks.

Check to see if it's not the cable first...

I don't think it's the cable because it's done this before and then been fine. And when I move it around, you can hear that it works. It just doesn't stay. I'm thinking the auxiliary jack is loose or something like that, just wasn't sure if anyone else had experienced this before.

If the cable does not have gold plated ends check that the ends are shiny. If they are dull, use a pencil eraser to clean the ends.
You can tell that it is a bad connection because when you turn the cable while you are listening it will get really scratchy.
