Been a happy Prius owner for 3 years. My 2007 Prius V was a great car.
Some meathead totaled it while parked out in front of my house a couple of weeks ago. Plowed in to the back of the Prius which piled it in to the back of my 03 4Runner. The 4runner survived, the Prius didn't.

I researched and consider other cars, then I read that the 3rd generation had addressed the few issues I had with the Gen 2.

So we went to the local dealer today and bought a Red Prius V with the advanced tech package. It will be here tomorrow.

I really like the toys, I think I will enjoy the tech pkg. The Gen 3 is a nice upgrade, esp. the power. I also appreciate the solid feel when you close a door. Can def. feel the stiffer chassis...it's all good. I hope the fog lights work, I called my Gen 2 foglights decorative. Here on the coast we get some wicked fog quite often. I'll need to sell my Ice tires or get an extra set of smaller rims. Is it OK to put 15 rims on a car with 17 for winter tires?

Picked up my 2010 IV on monday. Totally happy so far. The seats and room are awsome. Sat in Jettas-passats-bmw 3-audi 3 and 4-sonata and a few others. These were the most comfy seats for me by far. Excellent visability and in power mode more oomph than I had hoped for. Handles bumps great for a light car and averaging 48 mpg which believe it or not was not the main reason to buy a prius. This is a great mid/compact car with hatchback versatility. Easy in and out -- back and front. If toyota offered the prius with a non-hybrid corolla drive train as well for 3-4k less, it would be a top seller. I have to admit that watching the mpg readout is a hoot. Will keep it 8 years --- wonder what gas will cost in 2018? Deals are great now -- gas prices are pretty low in southern illinois/missouri. Might actually be a good investment when prices spike. We'll see.

Sure, just try to get the tire sized to be close to the 17 diameter. There are a couple threads on this.

Fogs are minimally effective. Your LEDs are excellent...but they come from factory aimed very very low. Good news is that adjustment is simple and easy. I adjusted mine...and wow, night driving has never been so clear. (And yes, my LEDs are still low enough to not burn upcoming retinas!)

I do leave my fogs ON because it provides a tiny bit of lateral lighting.

Oh, I'd have the biggest, fattest grin on my face if my parked 2009 got sandwiched and I knew the payout would be SL $25k.

    Oh What a feeling!!!
Picked up my Barcelona Red V this afternoon, have only put 10 or so miles on it. What a car!!!! I loved my Gen 2, but it had some annoyances. still a great car. The Gen 3 is so much better!! We are just getting acquainted, I'll report more. I'm just tickled with this car.
I was very pleased to see a manufacture date of 8/10 my dealer had to trade another dealer for it, so I bought it sight unseen. Dealers driver got it to my dealer and it is flawless.

Congrats on the new car. We picked ours up a week ago Friday. My sister in law says that this car is "politically correct" whatever that means. Really love the actual control you have with fuel consumption. Had an old Honda Accord which I really liked . She only got 25mpg on good days while on the hwy. Grandkids think the car is way cool . Grandson loves arguing with the voice activated phone and nav system. This car is a continual" work in progress" as far as learning what she can do. Going to see how accurate the miles till empty figure is :)

I got to try the radar cruise control today for a few miles, totally cool. I also tried the lane control thing, it works but not as impressive as the DRCC.
I will need to study the manual for a while before I try the parking thing, my wife is quite anxious to use it. As far as I am concerned they could have left it off, with the rear view camear the Prius is about the easiest car to park on the planet.

I waxed it with Nu-Finish this AM before I went trap shooting. It's shining like a diamond. I like the Red. I think it works great with the black trim and dark glass. The Blizzard pearl was my first choice but I didn't want to order one and wait. The red works for me, I hope it is not a cop magnet, but hey it's a Prius. Don't see them pulled over very often.
