Driving in Eco mode can be somewhat embarassing

See what I mean, everybody? Did you see his mental flip of his bird?

 

I'm getting 55.5 mpg on my current tank of gas using the non-extreme techniques described on PC and by never impeding the flow of traffic (and that includes not leaving huge gaps in front of me in stop and go traffic -- another technique that can cause road rage). That's good enough for me!

 

I get 62-70mpg and at least 650miles per tank.

 

I still get road rage thugs tailgating me in their 5mpg Chevy Tahoes even when I'm flowing w/the traffic at 65mph. That's when I let off the gas and flip them the courtesy symbol! I don't know why there's a bulls eye painted on my rear?

When they finally use the fast lane to blow their steam I accelerate right next to them... Gotta be painful pumping $150 every tankful...sad

 

Two things I must say to this:

1. Yes, those 680k other drivers ARE idiots. They aren't driving Prii. And for what it's worth, I've seen my share of them driving, and they aren't JUST idiots; they're blitheringly STUPID idiots who should have their driving privileges revoked.
2. I'm sure out of 680 THOUSAND hits on Google for "I hate Prius", at least a few of them are probably just duplicates.

Just sayin'.

 

The guy in the Camry could have been from the same church but still corrupted by the powerful satan. If everybody from the churches are all good, there won't be any pervert priests!

 

Here's another mental flip of the bird, folks (although with a "Just sayin'" disclaimer)

 

The bull's eye on your rear was painted with a sterotypical brush because of a few Prius drivers really deserve being mad at.

 

I get the feeling that drivers in your locality are constantly keeping a very vigilant eye peeled for anything that might vaguely resemble a flip of a bird.

Are you folks able to check your driving culture at the border? Much of the world uses different styles.

 

HAHAHA that's really funny.

 

Last week, I saw 3 car rear-end collisions over 6 separate times!

While driving on a lane controlled lane that IS CLEARLY marked with LOTS of signs, a woman put in front of me about 50 yards away and started speeding towards me onto oncoming traffic. I slammed the brakes and honked and at the very last moment she quickly slammed her brakes. She was using her cellphone. She came to a stop only 5 feet away from my Prius...it would have been an head on collision at over 50mph.

5 people tried to hit me cause I was in their blind spot, ALL of them were using their cellphones and driving with one hand (It is illegal to use cellphone while driving in DC).

One guy was tailgating me and then he overtook me and sped up passing a speed camera at over 60mph. He will get a ticket.

 

I think the topic should be changed to:

Not shifting correctly can be somewhat embarrassing.

 

Nobody disputes that there are idiot drivers out there. But to say "ALL OTHER DRIVERS ARE IDIOTS" except yourself, is, well, self explanatory.

 

It's like this George Carlin line: “Why is it that if another driver is going slower than you, he is an idiot, but if he is going faster than you, he is a maniac?â€
