what is the EPA for the 2010 prius?

    By looking at the 5min FE bars display, my Prius often shows bars of between 3 to 4 L/100km on long stretches of smooth, flat and uninterrupted city driving of 65-70 km/h speed. So 3.7 L/100km is actually quite possible and common, provided the road condition allows.

    I wonder if the Canadian EPA tests are configured like this?

    Did you calculate your gas consumption by including the litres of beer bubbles? If not then the real "gas" consumption of your "trip" should be closer to 20 burps/minute:D

    US CAFE is not the 'recent' old (mid-1980's to 2007) EPA number. EPA was already discounted, but was discounted even more in 2008.

    I'm unsure of even older EPA numbers.

    The day we pop into the Garrison brewery, it was Father's Day and they had free beer for dads, did not get to see much more of Halifax harbour after that :D

    Aside from Toronto (=P), we don't drive like we do in the US. The higher US numbers are reasonable (and besides, that just means owners can say they beat the EPA).

    In Canada, it's not as "realistic" but it doesn't mean it's not achievable. I also see the 3.7L/100km as a challenge. Currently sitting at 4.0 (actual 4.2) for the 2010 and 3.9 (actual 3.9) for the 2005.

    That's 59mpg (actual 56mpg) for the 2010 and 60mpg (actual 60mpg) on the 2005 for you US folks.
